What's your favorite Sub-$50 Casio?

Fairly simple question; What's your favorite budget Casio? I wrote an article on this topic back in January, and listed my top 5 favorite choices. The DW-291H and AE-1200 came in right behind my top, the OG DW-5600.

How about you? What's your favorite budget Casio?

Those were the three I had in mind!

Well, I own one sub-100 Casio, F-105W. It's great for what it is, and it's considerably less than a hundred. So my vote would go to the OG-5600, sorry, DW-5600. While I don't have that one, I have a GW-5610U and my dear has a BGD-565, which is basically a smaller de-rated DW-5600E.

It's built to take basically anything.

However, the AE-1200 is tempting. As well as the A-500... each on their own spot on the tool-jewel axis.

I'll go with the G-shock, because I know it.

A168: easy to dress down and up.

F-91 is the icon, but it's World Timer for me.

Agreed on that! The F-91 is the greatest Casio of all time, but that does not mean that it is the best right now.

It's on my top 5 list too! I think it's the cheapest dressy/casual watch that is worth buying. It's a solid watch.

Solid choices! The GW-5610u is my current go-to Casio, and is my favorite one now. Well worth the money, but well above $50 too.

Royale, DW-290, and the SGW-500 ($70)

They make analog watches too. MQ-24, the analog F-91W!

·

I guess I'd go with the Data bank calculator - DBC-32D. The stainless steel edition has a certain air of elegance and toughness to it.

They certainly do! Truth be told, I’m very much more attracted to the digital offerings, which is why I kept my original article to just those. I’ve not got much experience with analog Casios, aside from a few ani-digi pieces.

I like my Duro ($34) in that it got me back into watches...

...but I recently picked up a W-87H-1V ($18). My adult children where born in 1996 and 1999, respectively, and this watch was introduced in 1996 and the minor variation colorway I have came out in 1999, so it is sort-of a birth-year watch for either of my children? I've been wearing it for the past week and I like how much lighter it is than the Duro (as a beater), and with functionality similar to an F-91W, it really is all anyone needs.

I think that 40-41mm is my sweet spot, but the 44mm Duro wears like a 41-42mm and the 45mm W-87 wears like a 40mm 👍.
