Feels like I’ve stolen a watch?

I’m not a watch snob, I own a Rolex (but only after saving for one for 30 years) I own a few other decent watches, a Doxa and some decent mid tier Seiko’s and Orients but I also own a few lower priced pieces which I enjoy just as much and wear them without any hesitation…….I can’t resist a nice looking watch, the only caveat being it has to be made by a decent watch company, not a company who make shirts and then  flog Chinese crap with their logo on at inflated priced.

Now, as I was walking past a watch repair shop today, I noticed a nice 1960’s/1970’s racing chronograph in the display. Said watch is the Accurist retro racer. U.K. people will know the name Accurist well, others outside the U.K. not so. They have a great history and are not to be sniffed at when you read some of their accomplishments.

I did a double take…..£64. ?????

wallet was out in a flash and I am really impressed. The case finishing is excellent, brushed to polished surfaces done brilliantly, seconds hands hit the markers exactly, a Zodiac and a Marathon I’ve had couldn’t manage that. 39mm diameter and 45mm lug to lug is a sweet spot for me too. It is a real steal for that money, that’s two rounds of drinks in Manchester. Anyone else had one?

I love those types of finds.

Great looking watch!

Always the best getting those way over the top deals. Just running out of the store before they change their mind. Great looking watch too.

I was looking at one of those recently in Next of all places. I think for the price you can't go wrong. Love the retro style and it was as an alternative to the Farer I had my eye on. Think they generally go for about double the price you paid but Next had it for £50. Wish I'd gone for it now.

Ha. Just reviwed here an Accurist I bought less than 2 weeks ago. Accurist has relaunchedas a brand, and that watch, like all their other old models, is discontinued. Watches of their new range are mostly in their mid-100s  (100-200).

I’ve had my eye on these for a year or so, at £64 it’s a no brainer, it feels quite substantial as well and I’m lining some rally straps up already. they share the same case with the Geckota watches which are 3x the price. I’ve just seen a new release by Accurist….. the origin series, they look fantastic.

It’s what you call “Love at first sight“. While some might call it impulse buy. But for that price, it is indeed a steal deal.

I’ve had a four different  older yellow Accurist watches, they have really good miyota movements and are absolutely solid pieces

Great looking watch. Love it, was it brand new or used? Manchester you say? Wonder if they have any more!
