I have this watch and I absolutely love it, use it and abuse it. It looks to me like a perfect mashup between an oyster quartz and a gmt master but made by Timex. I put mine on a cheap folded link jubilee from Amazon for maximum vintage feel and it has become my go to flying watch. The bezel action is the perfect tension and IMHO this watch could only be improved in two ways: better lume (fixable), and a jumping hour hand but that's wishful thinking. As is, it's still 👨‍🍳😘🤌 /chef's kiss

I don't really care about price, I care about design and execution. In my opinion all watches are tool watches just for different scenarios. Finding the perfect tool for each scenario is a form of horological problem solving that incorporates form and function. It is a balance between comfort, time keeping, legibility, appropriateness for occasion, color, skin tone, story, history, complication, availability, affordability, and a whole other set of factors that I'm sure most of us could list. The hunt for that perfect balance of all factors is what I'm after.

Plus some watches are just fun 😊

No. By jumping hour hand I am referring to the main 12hr hour hand not the GMT hand. The new miyota 9075 is a flyer/traveler/true gmt in te same vein as a Rolex GMT Master 2. With this style of complication, where the 24 hour hand is slaved to the minute hand and the 12 hour hand can be bi-directionally moved independently in one hour increments, it allows for an elegant and user friendly way to quickly set the local time in a new timezone when traveling while not having to take the time to reset the entire watch. It is very convenient for someone constantly on the go and probably my most sought after complication because of that.

Hope that helps 😊

If I had to limit it to 3 it would be a diver, a dress or dressy watch, and either a chronograph or a gmt depending on my lifestyle. Realistically I would actually go with a 5 watch collection with the aforementioned dress, diver, gmt/traveler, chronograph, and add in a gshock or equivalent. Covers all bases and scenarios and anything beyond that can be collecting whatever I like simply for fun.

My $0.02 😊
