Lessons from 44 days of the "Dad Watch" OWC

Baby watch day 44 with the "Dad Watch"

 IT'S A GIRL!!

In the fist picture the SPB143 on the left is my "Dad Watch" and on the right is my baby girl with her first birthday watch which will be gifted to her when she is of age.

It's been a heck of a journey and my own personal owc experience with the SPB143. With 6 hospital visits, sleepless nights full of a vomiting wife, and constant yet inconsistent contractions it has been an ordeal and a test of resolve for her, for me, and for my inner WIS.

Biggest watch lessons learned: Weight distribution is KEY to comfort.

1) Weight and height (not just case thickness but nato bulk included) = lever arm. The higher the lever arm the greater the stress on the wrist (especially when being used as a human handrail 'cause let me tell you the wrist gets tender)

2) The perfect strap fit is tantamount to proper Weight distribution. If the strap is too tight and the wrist swells pain ensues, but if it is too loose then the watch head flops around like medieval flail whacking your poor wrist.

Since we recently had a big OWC challenge, what lessons learned from your own OWC experiences?

Beautiful Baby Congrats! I hope the chaotic days are behind you. I've been there . Great watch! I have pictures of my son as a little boy holding my watch to his ear to hear it tick. Those are great moments
