The SPB143 killer?
Just announced last night…and I’m kinda glad I never pulled the trigger on the SPB143. This looks like an upgrade in every way. It will be made of their proprietary titanium blend, it’ll come in blue, and it’s got a more accurate (I think) Miyota movement. All that I’m waiting on is hearing how it’s priced.
Am I missing something? am I too excited about this? What’re your thoughts?

I prefer the looks of the SPB143, but it is an interesting looking Citizen.

I agree! I am looking forward to Citizen releasing models with 9000 series movements in them and will be looking to add one of these to my collection soon.

I like the vintage skin diver feel on the SPB and I am a bit of a Seiko fan boy. Im sure this Miyota is great but I haven't had great luck with Miyota's in the past. I had a Laco that barely kept time, let alone accurate time.

41mm, just over 12mm thick.....this is a contender.....as a huge fan of the NY0080, this could be a worthy modern replacement......I like it!
Citizen is one of the most underrated brands. Even with competitive watches like this they have a hard time breaking out of the “mall watch” category for many. Awesome watch.

I know they're pulling it from their past designs, but I would really prefer this one without a "mercedes" hand.

It's great that they made it out of titanium, but the looks are too plain for me, and I don't even like mercedes hands on a Rolex, so I even like them less on any other watch 🤣

Right?! I asked my girlfriend (who's not super into watches) to give me reasons to hate it,...and even she couldn't find any.
41 is good, 40 would be better but this isn't thick at all so could wear great. I'm not a fan of the Mercedes hour hand choice though.

Looks nice, except I would prefer something besides Mercedes hands. I don’t regret getting the SPB143.
If I needed a dive watch, I'd get an eco-drive or G-Shock. More robust, more durable, more accurate, cheaper (more money for diving). Not really sure why the world needs an automatic dive watch, let alone 15,000 of them.
