First Grand Seiko. SBGW231 vs SBGA429
Hi guys! This is a follow up poll from my last one. I was thrilled to get over 300 votes for my wedding watch! My question now is to get the SBGW231 or the SBGA429.
I'll also probably switching the SBGA429 with a black leather strap for my wedding day.

Power reserve on the dial is the GS equivalent of the Omega HE valve. Unattractive and easily avoidable.
Have you taken a look at the SBGW279? The blue is out of this world gorgeous!

I have no problem at all with the power reserve. The choice of placement is what deeply offends me.
For the first Grand Seiko, people suggest a spring drive and I don't disagree. However, the SBGW 231 is never a bad choice because it embodies so elegantly what I believe Grand Seiko does so well, a dress watch with character. There's a reason it is called the Seikotrava

Own the SBGW231. Love the simplicity of the dial, value and it's a manual wind. Its a strap monster. Wait till you purchase the BoR bracelet. I also own the Peacock, which is a HiBeat. Looking for a SD to round out the collection. I've tried the light n dark Sokos, Skyflake, the Winter and the White Birch SD at my AD. Still haven't made up my mind, lol. Get the SBGW231. Then save for the SD. Good luck and congrats!

think the ship has sailed on the original Lake Suwa at reasonable prices, but I think about that one a lot. The darker non limited dial isn’t the same 😕

7 months ago perhaps 7.25-7.5 the case is 39mm it’s kinda perfect size and yup I still have the watch just haven’t worn in a while I kinda baby that watch well… all my watches lol…
