Aesthetic wise: the minimalist and engineer in me wanted more of a tool watch aesthetic (time, date, maybe gmt)ย
Movement wise: For an accuracy snob and a fellow engineer, I would say I gravitate towards novel movements or movements that pushes horological boundaries (like spring drive, remontoir d'egalite, resonance, tourbillion, etc)
Congratulations for the awesome find! Im so impressed with everyone trying to evaluate which model it is (shows all the knowledge we can find in this web)!ย
I would recommend you to go to a JLC store and ask them for more details on the watch. Go ask your parents for the story of this watch too! It will be very interesting!
Thats unfortunate :( I am also an adamant GS fan but i am reconsidering a purchase right now due to their complexity (especially high beat and spring drive) that requires them to be shipped to Japan for service.
Yeah, it is not much here, and they gave a guarantee of 1 year as well for the movement. My brothers told me that its weird that my seiko is running so bad considering usually seiko is a workhorse (not the most accurate but still not -60s/d).
Where did you learn to do all the restoration and service yourself?
