I just bought my 2nd vintage Seiko. ๐Ÿ˜โŒš๏ธ

My Vintage 1980s Seiko ref# 7123-8429-P has come in and I'm over the moon. I think it's a particularly unique feeling buying an old, used watch. You wonder where it's been, what kind of appointments it helped someone keep, how many times it's been serviced. This watches caseback shows a crude engraving of the word "ORREN". Was it a name? Was it a gift for this Orren?

Besides the lived-in feeling of vintage timepieces I really love these older watches dimensions. I have a smaller than average wrist and this piece fits like a glove. The super flat case height is something to get used to but I love how it feels on wrist.

I will absolutely be buying more vintage watches in the future.

What cool vintage watches do you guys/gals have? I'd love to see your favorite pieces.

I think my only gold tone watch will be a vintage one. Very cool piece.

Cool watch! Looks amazing๐Ÿ˜ I like my omega constellation bumper with champagne dial from the 50s!

I love vintage Seiko. I was wearing my two vintage Seiko Quartz LCD watches over the weekend. I have a bunch of other vintage Seikos that you can see in my gallery.

Great find. Is the alternate language Kanji? If not I have a silver day wheel for a 7123 in English/Kanji

Wow, you weren't kidding! Amazing collection ๐Ÿ‘

That is pretty! The mesh pulls everything together

ยท

Probably no need to wonder how many times it's been serviced. It will be zero ๐Ÿ˜

I have around 60 vintage watches from the 50's to the 70's and also find them fascinating. My favourite at the moment is this little Rone.

Orren is Japanese for Kevin. Spooky.

The way it's scratched in is kinda spooky too. Almost like a message.

Looking good! That vintage watch rabbit hole is DEEP! I (I mean you) will never come back.

Congrats! Beautiful watch. Vintage Seikos have such a beautiful dials and I love the applied indices. This is my Seiko Sportsman from 1968. I bought it in an online auction from a Turkish seller. I also wonder the story behind this little machine. Who did it belong to, in how many places it has been, how did it get its scratches that for me are like wrinkles of an well liver person, and how on earth it keeps ticking with respectabel accuracy.

Lovely!! I've been eyeing these too. Seems like a better way to spend your money than two plastic swatches and a prx..
