I’m the opposite. I have other hobbies and interests that I prioritize above this and am not really interested in this side of watch stuff. They’re largely just fashion accessories and tools to me. I don’t have a deep fascination with horology, either. And I don’t feel that buying they stuff constitutes a proper hobby. So it felt cringey to me when I got given a watch book recently. I never touch it and am considering selling it.
The only reason I’m currently keeping the book I was gifted is laziness and thinking I might get around to reading the parts about horology, which is kinda interesting. The rest is a glorified watch centerfold for ⅔ of the book.
But if it were about the Soviet watch industry—since it ties into my interest in Soviet history—I would like that very much.
I too would like a book.
