I'm a little obsessed with the Giorgio Armani by Parmigiani Fleurier, LV is upping their game going in house and the Hermes H08 also has a Vaucher movement.

To me this isn't really a fashion watch in the same sense as a Hugo Boss or Michael Kors as it's made by a company that makes watches

I agree on that one
Great topic. The competition is real. Not sure if Hermes should be considered a fashion watch after reading these articles though:

I saw a comparison of the H08 and the Cartier Santos and honestly I would choose the H08
I think "fashion watches" is far to broad a category to answer this unless, as many people do, you view being sort of lousy as a prerequisite for a fashion watch. I'd say they're still pretty underwhelming, and in becoming genuinely good, they cease to be fashion watches and become watches from a fashion brand.

Coincidently, I was blogging with another cruncher last night about the H08. I am seeing preowned for around 3k. However, depending on the Cartier, it would be a difficult choice for me.

Great distinction, not all are created equal.

A lot of value on this brands, for now
C depends on the watch. Some fashion watches are excellent.
Fashion watches have always been great. Watch nerds just tend to prefer ugly watches and bemoaning value.

I love that meme. There are some really beautiful ones
if its a well made watch why not
Could argue that the most popular brand is a fashion watch.. most buyers aren't enthusiasts but buy for the name and image. 👑🤔
As i absolutely adore my Diesel Mr. Daddy 2 i voted for a
Does having a fashion brand name associated with a watch automatically make it a fashion watch in the usual pejorative sense of that term? I don't think so . . . esp. in the case of that photo . . . Also think half the terms watch communities tend to throw around are kind of pointless in any case and are kind of needlessly "gatekeepy" and judgmental.
Fashion watches rock!
I say, "if watches are a secondary industry for you? It's not a real watch company". The watch can be a legit, well-built, quality piece but... I wouldn't buy one. Even the Santos, just not my jam. This is only a personal preference. There are many nice ones out there.
That is true, it helps if watches are in the forefront
I just received this as a belated birthday present. It's a great looking watch.
It has the same movement as this below. But because it has Kenneth Cole on the dial it's a "fashion" watch. There are lots of so called fashion watches that are made by big companies. The movements in some of them also are excellent. I have watches with Seiko Chronograph movements in them. Because it doesn't have Seiko on the dial its called a fashion watch and is hated on. Yet that hated on watch looks and feels better than the Seiko not to forget to mention that the hands hit the indices on the fashion watch and not on the Seiko.
This is so true, citizen, miyota and seiko all have great movements used in fashion brands
There is a difference between a fashion watch and a watch from a brand that’s known primarily for “fashion” or “jewelry”
The H08 is amazing
It really is, awesome on the orange strap
Great conversation. This echo chamber needs to be injected with opposite views or else we tend to be lemmings all jumping off that cliff. Remind yourself that they all died at the end of their jump (with NH35 run GMT clicky bezeled dive watches). So I post the alternate view at times here on WC, yes guilty, because DIVERSITY is good. And yea Fashion Watches are GOOD.
Gatekeepers and snobs be damned. And no I dont know how to say Glasssssshuutttteeee (as in 'ah, or uh..?') I dont care to.
So true, more options is better

Specially considering some recent releases
Certain fashion brand are certainly upping their game and appealing to watch enthusiasts.
Fashion brands like Bvlgari, Cartier and TAG are ok IMO......
At this point, aren't ALL watches fashion watches?
They kind if are, arent they?
that is a very nice watch and i agree that a brand like lv also has some good watches. but the avarega fashion watches are not for me and feels like some fashion brands just use it to make some extra profit and using their brand name for the sales instead of actually making good watches.
Let’s not forget Chanel. They own a chunk of Tudor’s movement maker Kenissi and use the COSC Black Bay movement (with one extra jewel) in their watches. They are also pumping out full ceramic cases and bracelets. The styling may lean to the feminine but they are no joke.

No joke indeed, way too expensive but the jump hour Monsieur with the Chanel inhouse caliber is beautiful
I mean, the J12 GMT in matt ceramic IS kinda nice...
Always been great, it’s just cool for watch nerds to hate them

Very cheap toys without any quality... You are totally right.
