Dislike the style myself, but I'd go for the new CW12X . Really like the dial (or lack of)

CW12

·

Casio Edifice Thin Series

I have a soft spot for Baume & Mercier, I was out of luck sourcing a Riviera limited edition perpetual calendar moonphase last year limited to 50 copies worldwide but the brand makes quite a number of Riviera models. It is an original design that could be more than a placeholder.

Casio Edifice EFR-S108. Sapphire glass, brushed dial (depending on the variant), and it's a bit more original than the Nivada.

Twelve doesn’t have the screws like the NG/ Alpina.twelve is more similar to czapek I think

Price too high I think. For that price I would get a Tudor/ Cartier or op Rolex

Formex Essence has a hint of that look while maintaining a very original design language and an innovative case design.

Urm wristcounsellor said previously nothing like. But although it lacked 4 more screw in photos both look very similar

Don’t bother with alternatives just bite the bullet and get your RO

If you’re already considering this caliber of watch then any alternative is just not gonna satisfy. If it’s just time then so be it and wait

·

The Patek Nautilus would be a good alternative. If not available then a VC Overseas would do fine.

Yeh like a Rolex wait 3 years and end up people with purchase history giving to me for birthday and Christmas present. Won’t hold high hopes getting from AD in Asia

RO (and that look) is too gaudy for my blood.

The DJ while nice isn't as nice as the Overseas in build quality. It is supremely a level above the already good finishing that the DJ has. There is the black and now green dial Overseas. I personally feel that in terms of finishing the Overseas actually feels better than the RO because the RO has that industrial design language whereas the Overseas isn't. Go fondle one, see if you agree with what i think about the finish. If you can't get one, try a Parmigiani Tonda PF microrotor as something a little left field.

I agree with the riviera but it only comes with 2 year’s warranty which makes me think it’s not a good choice. But it’s a nice looking watch

Honestly I didn’t even think about the warranty when I picked up my latest a grey dial moonphase. Not exactly kidding but my experience with warranties has been watch never requires work until warranty expires: most egregious was my Breitling Navitimer which came with a 5 yr warranty extend a full 2 years by the retailer as a courtesy, watch needed service 1 day after w expired. The retailer picked up the bill minus $600 cad for a new lens final charge was over 3k cad so warranties are relevant.

Definitely, if smaller brands like CW can give you a 5 year warranty then surely a brand as established at baume and mercer should be able too. I’ve also heard similar from breitling and it’s put me off buying one next 👍

D: none of the above

35mm quartz PRX, or a casioak with the metal swapped out strap

Might try the green one
