Got the call!

About 4 months ago I made my first inquiry at my local AD then placed an “order” about a month ago. Picked it up yesterday.

I was on Oahu when I go the call for this 36 palm dial. Funny how things pann out. The night before I remember thinking “I should grab a box of Honolulu cookie company cookies for my sales associate” (without knowing I was about to be offered a watch).

Last month when I visited the ad and there were actual watches in the case for sale. Ladies watches, OP’s, and two tone white dial datejust41.

Are more people getting calls?

Wow have never seen a palm dial in the wild! Congrats! Yes, have read a decent number of Crunchers “getting the call”. Enjoy and aloha 🤙

Congrtas on a great watch. It's such a random dial, but it just works so well. Enjoy in good health

·

Congratulations on a beautiful timepiece

Congratulation to your watch!

I picked up mine yesterday. Yes, things seems to ease up. The two ADs I have had contact with says that they opened up a lot of closed lists for steel sports.

The economy is tanking and people have started pulling back on luxury purchases. Lots of used luxury items from boats to watches will be flooding the market at distressed prices in 2024, so probably Rolex is trying to make hay while the sun is still shining.

·

Congrats, great spec. No call here, waiting ~6 months for an Air King

·

Not yet. My AD instituted a one Rolex a year policy. I still have a few months to go.

Lucky man doing better than most!! Never gotten a call. I’ve owned 11 Rolex’s, 7 Omegas, 8 Tudors, 1 Zenith, 1 Panerai, 3 Tags in less than 3 years and I’ve never gotten a call back when I was looking at an AD. I’ve always had to buy Grey.

·

Yes, it's getting easier. Prices on the grey market is slowing so we can see that demand is dropping fast.

Congrats!! But wait, weren't we hearing that this would be discontinued? Didn't dealers start whispering about production problems?

Prob the usual hype haha. Man, this market is crazy 😧🤣

Thank you! I went more active with my AD when I heard about these rumours and I didn’t want to miss out. I truly don’t think production problem is so severe that this icon will be discontinued. My AD spculated that maybe Rolex prioritize the white gold version if they are incapable of producing enough numbers.

That dial is spectacular!!! Congratulations.

·

No different than doing so for flight attendants or hotel front desk agents. It was just a box of cookies nbd

Since my first visit to now I probably stopped in once and my AD would text me maybe once a month

I'm not a Rolex guy, but very happy for you that you were able to get the one you wanted.

I think all watches (pretty much) are going to be more available.

With the interest rate climbing into the stratosphere...dealers will have to unload inventory to pay down their revolving debt.

This means the "secondary market" of dealers purchasing out the back door of the Rolex AD will be drying up really fast. That means normal consumers will be able to purchase most Rolex references again at normal list prices.

I see watches that have not sold below list for a long time, now selling again below list. Others that were pretty firm at list for the past several years, are now going for discounts of 25-30%.

Just purchased a brand new Omega DeVille for my wife today (full box & papers) for 30% discount.

Where do people get this stuff about the economy tanking? Unemployment is at a near historic low. Yes, there's some inflation, but it's slowing.
