Rolex Explorer

I always thought that the only problem with Rolex was Rolex's owner. Tons of People wearing a watch just to show that they have money. It's such a mess. That watch is simply perfection.

I bought mine (36 mm) with a little bit of an investment mindset but I’m totally in love with it. I now intend to keep it for many many years to come.

Are you not concerned with that bracelet scratching and/or damaging the left side of that case?

Me too my friend

I try not to judge and simply enjoy what I like and let others do the same for whatever reason they choose. Was never an investment for me. I wanted one as a kid and enjoy them on the wrist as an adult.

·

...I would never wear a steel bracelet next to my Explorer though.

I’ve been tempted to add a 36mm explorer to my collection. It seems so simple and pure in its functionality and there’s something alluring about that.

·

Absolutely love the explorer. The only issue for me is others do something that looks the same but at a price point of a tool watch and not a new car.

This is true for like 90% of the #rolex models out there. There's a reason why they copy Rolex, just look at their logo. 🤴

The Explorer is a "tool" watch and , as such, is built to be worn daily. I have an Explorer that I really enjoy. While I don't necessarily wear it when I'm wrenching on my bike, I'm not over cautious with it either.I expect that it will develop more signs of regular use over the years. I don't consider it an investment (perhaps an heirloom?), that I can capitalize on the future appreciate. I enjoy it now for what it is.

Now denying it's quality only £6000+ is a lot for a tool watch IMO.

I totally agree but I'm struggling with paying £6000 for a tool watch. If I was climbing Everest it would be my watch of choice however.

·

IMO the Explorer I and II are the stealth Rolex models. We could toss the Milgauss & Old School Air King on there. They are beautiful watches most enjoyed by watch lovers

Save the lecture for a noob. I didn’t read beyond the first sentence. The bracelet causes unnecessary and avoidable damage. I don’t care about damage from everyday use.

·

How do you know when someone wears a Rolex for keeps? When he wears them with a steel bracelet. Metal af, man!

·

36mm mafia! Enjoy!

But surely there’s a difference between treating a watch as a “tool” and deliberately wearing something that will damage it?

·

So you’ve resized your assumption was false…

My friend your belongings are yours to do as you please, got to remind you that watch is most people's grail on here and unattainable to most, purposely putting a metal bracelet next to your watch is not general use damage,I wear my watches every day for years never been scratched off a bracelet,do what your doing I have no issue I'm just pointing out the fact most of us can't afford to be that care free or careless with our expensive items, scratch on brother 😂👌

Not intended to be a lecture. Sharing an opinion

Is this a book? If so, where can it be purchased? Thanks!

I'm more afraid of the edges of the walls! Jokes aside, a round-profile silver bracelet causes no harm; I've been wearing it for years.

It’s a Rolex magazine and you can acquire it at the AD

It really is a great looking piece simplicity at its best and built like a tank just fantastic …!!⭐️💯⏱️

·

I want one so badly, I like a rugged watch, one that I wouldn't mind chucking about a bit, and if I had the money, I'd so be wearing one

·

I wear all my watches, regardless of the price. I can't imagine buying a watch just to put it under a bubble. That doesn't mean I mistreat them; I could never do that because I love them. Scratches are part of a watch's life and add to its personality. If I were ever to sell it (though it won't happen), I would have it polished (with 100€ it becomes like new).
