Citizen Collection Please inform…
So since @Fieldwalker posted this a while ago during his lovely trip to Japan i have been looking around for this watch but I really have no clue about them, all I know it’s automatic and it’s 38.2 mm case size and not sure but do correct me and inform me about this has Lacquer Dials?? As you know I love these dials!! And also the price is sooo reasonable 😉 right now and about to click “checkout” already for these two watches at www.sakurawatches.com also @AllTheWatches any issues purchasing from this site? just doing a bit of research before I pull the trigger…so any info would be helpful…also don’t tell my wife 😉

No issues with Sakura here. They took a couple days to ship, but when they did, I believe it was overnight or perhaps second day. Faster than some US dealers.

There are a lot of Japanese watch variations that are never offered in the export market. Only way to get them is gray market resellers.

Aw man! I came here to say that blue one is out of stock on Sakura, and it was as of a couple of days ago. And now I see it’s back in stock. Damn. But I just bought me a Grand Seiko. So tempted. Get thee behind me, Satan! I’ve had my eye on it for a few months now. Sakura had it, but I dithered and then they didn’t. The best price I could find recently was on Buyee, but their buying process is overly complicated, and I’m concerned about shipping.
@AllTheWatches, they’re checkout says DHL. Do they in fact ship with DHL?
Side issue: should I pay with eBay or credit card? Credit card offers a better exchange rate, but eBay may offer better buyer protection.

Excellent question. I believe they used DHL to get it to the states, but once here it was UPS. Just double checked my tracking to confirm. Over all start to end, it was less than a week from Japan, which is pretty great.

And it was indeed a lacquer dial, or similar. Was a detailed and complex process to make that dial. Read about it while I was holding it in my hand !

I have been looking a lot at new citizen releases. I would love the fancy quartz, caliber 0100 🤔 If it doesn't cost 7000$+ like the last watches that dropped with that movement.

For anyone interested here is some JDM higher end citizen info
The super high end citizens are called “The Citizen” (around ~$3k) and the level above that is “Campagnola” (~$5 to 7k)
Unlike seiko where I know all caliber s and where each ranks, I’m clued out with the high end citizen automatics and quartz models. But I believe they are probably a good match for similarly priced seikos and grand seikos
I picked up this one last week.
I didn’t see this before. I love the look of these!!
