Editorial - What I’m Looking Forward in 2022. What to expect for the year to come regarding watches and the watch industry.
In the first installment of her new monthly column, Cara Barrett says it's time to retire our outdated gender norms.
The watch that got the most wrist time is my Seiko SRPC93. It’s the “Save the Ocean” Samurai Special Edition. It’s a watch that’s grown on me more and more over time.
I seriously doubt it. I think that the Black Bay Heritage series is the contemporary version of the Tudor Submariner. It seems that Tudor is trying harder than ever before to differentiate themselves from Rolex, so I doubt they would release a model with the same name.
I hear you. For me, the more I look into it, the more appreciative I am of Seiko’s movements. One thing that irks me is when Seiko watches aren’t considered quality by some people, but many microbrands use Seiko movements in their watches.
I hear you. It’s just a hypothetical question. The idea of one watch forever is mind- blowing to some people, but I’d also argue that some people may con it since watches are so expensive.
The more I look into the Zenith as a brand and the Chronomaster, the more impressed by them. I like the way they’re marketing the brand and I also really like that you can take a tour of the facilities. I’m still a Rolex fan. I’d take the Submariner over the Chronomaster, but I’d take the Chronomaster over the Daytona.
Thanks dude, it’s much appreciated. I got it about three years ago for about $300 (on sale). It’s held up really well. For the money I spent, it’s given me A LOT of value.
I’ve been thinking a lot about this since last night. It’s a hard question to answer. I’d have to ask myself “which watch would make me happy wearing every day“ and “which watch would I be comfortable wearing in different occasions?” If it’s a watch I don’t have, I‘d have to say my grail watch, the Submariner 124060, but if it’s a watch I do have, my Seiko “Save the Ocean“ Samurai.
Surrounded by collectors, one proud watch owner sees more advantage in buying one thing you love, and nothing more.
