I have the Samurai version with a very similar dial. I've alternated between the steel bracelet it came with and a navy blue nato strap. I've found that because of the blue dial, I only like navy blue straps on it. I almost put a blue goat leather strap on it, but after I ordered one, it didn't come in, so I had to get a refund.

I really like how you mentioned "Like the watch, not the brand." That's definitely true for me. I'm a fan of many watches, and sometimes I'm tempted to like the whole brand, but all brands put out watches I don't like, so I wouldn't be comfortable saying "(insert brand name) is the best." Most brands produce a watch I do like, and maybe two or three, but usually not more than that.

I really appreciate the vision behind WatchCrunch, about it being a place for watch enthusiasts to learn and discuss, hopefully with as little snobbery as possible. I also appreciate that I can post or respond with not just text, but also a link, a picture, and more.

Right now, I’m using my phone’s browser to interface with the site. I would love an app to use.

commented on What do you think about financing a watch? ·

I think financing a watch is a bad idea 95% of the time. It’s not something to go into debt or pay extra in interest over. For a lot of people, saving the money to buy a watch is part of the journey, and adds to the satisfaction when you do buy a watch. If you can pay off the balance within a few months and avoid interest, I’d say it’d be an option to consider, but preferably avoid.

It’s an awesome watch! Life is short; wear it and enjoy it.
