Diver on Leather

I’ve always been in love with bracelets, and I’ve never really experimented with many other straps on some of my watches; however, I was very pleased with this pairing with the Orient Kamasu.
I like how I can see the sides of the case where the end links would normally cover the case—I think it makes the polishing pop against the darker color of the leather. I will have to experiment more!

Snapped these photos yesterday, but I haven’t taken it off since then!  Except to sleep of course.

Leather is nice when it does not have bacteria eating up the dead skin cells behind it and smelling bad. NATO's can be popped off and cleaned or swapped in seconds. Bracelets weigh to much when they are not nipping hairs.

Ignore the rules, wear what you like. No one but enthusiasts would know or care. While not for me, but I still prefer a quality leather strap over most sub $1K bracelets.

People, including celebrities, have worn dive watches on leather bands for longer than I've been alive. Unless one is actually planning on submersion, it's not a big deal. I'm all for pedantry, but there's more honesty in the the tacit admission that the watch is just being used as a rugged (looking) watch.

·

That's a good look, OP.

I personally shower and sleep with my watches often, basically they get wet more than they sometimes should, so for me, leather is reserved to days where I know I won't need to do some sweaty activities or wet the watch. But I know some people, like you, or my boss, that really like leather on a diver and that's fine too.

VERRRY NICE.  My Kamasu is on a Barton.  Changes, and IMHO, improves the entire experience.

Yours looks amazing on that strap!  Very cool material. I‘ve been happy with every Barton Band that I’ve bought.

Barton straps are pretty well made but have heard a few have had fraying issues,  will see.

I will keep my eye on mine. I only have 1 canvas strap from Barton, and it is very new, so time will tell I suppose.

Totally agree, the rules no longer apply. Even Tudor sells divers with leather straps

Looks great on that leather strap! I may have to try the same with my kamasu!

I am a big fan of divers on leather straps.  It can give a vintage looking diver a really cool look.  I broke all of the rules in one of my wrist shots last week.  Leather strap in the summer and leather on a diver!

Technical foul but theres no referee so do what you like! Be a rebel!!!

only downside is you couldn‘t get it wet without wrecking the strap. Sailcloth or Canvas straps that appeal but leather just looks so damn good. Leather zulu straps… beautiful.

Very nice leather just don't go Catfishing with it on or beach surfing.
