Good point - I didn't think of that, but I've heard of exactly that happening when issued watches are serviced, so you are probably spot on.
Can I ask why CWC wouldn't have a '75 caseback if they started operation in 70 -72?
Seems like a long lead time to not be delivering product. Was there a delayed handover where Hamilton were fulfilling their final orders and CWC were gearing up production on their first orders (if that makes sense)?
Cheers, interesting topic.

The guy who started CWC (Ray Mellor) was formally of Hamilton and he bought the remaining stock of Hamilton parts and took over their existing MoD orders.
I'm far from an expert on CWC but I'd expect that it's from that time - ex Hamilton parts on an early CWC.
Cool watch.
*Edit - just did a bit of fact checking. CWC started operating in '72, so ignore the second half of what I wrote!

Yes I do and no I don't.
I have a lot of vintage Certina and quite a few ST19 powered chronographs + some other flotsam ...
About a year ago my direction changed and I'm mainly focused on re-issues and vintage styled micros these days.
I keep a 10 watch box for my rotation, the rest will be sold - but I don't sell anything unless I havenโt worn it for ~ 6 months, then I'll wear it to see if I reconnect. If I don't I sell, if I do I hang on to it for longer.
I will eventually get back to 8 - 10 watches and maintain that.
