Swatch x Blancpain, was it a good purchase? 🫨

I bought the MoonSwatch, because I've always liked both brands and I thought it was fun despite being overpriced. I think yours is a far better proposition in terms of it being automatic and I think probably better quality. I'd keep it purely cos it's a talking point and in the grand scheme of things it's not ridiculously expensive.

I'll be honest I forgot about these after the initial flurry of people posting online trying to flip at 50%+ markup died down a few months ago

I agree. I have both Swatch Collabs. The omega is much more fun. But the Blancpain is better built and heftier. Neither is a serious watch. I think the meh comes if you bought it with the intention that it is more than a novelty. Once you get past that and look at it as the Sunday Funday watch, you’ll get more joy out of it. Neither replaces the actual metal watches they are modeled after.

Yes, exactly. May revisit the desire for a Blancpain Swatch version though. I was angry initially cos I felt Swatch were just turning it into even more of a cash cow after I'd already paid for the MoonSwatch but they are very different animals.

I bought this exact watch and love it! very fun and cool IMO

I doubt I’ll get one but there’s a swatch shop quite close to me so maybe one day I’ll go in and grab one. I think they look cool enough I just have a lot of watches already and I think I’d put that $400 towards something else.

I don't care for the "3D Printer " watches. But I do understand it's a watch and has it's own merits.

I was quite happy and satisfied with MoonSwatch - Mission to Mercury especially after removing that god-awful velcro thing and fitting it with a nice mustard leather strap - So the minute I found out about Swatch Blancpain I went to Swatch store and got Indian Ocean - Was super excited to get it and then 15 min later when I wore it for the first time on my wrist and saw how that nato strap has been designed really badly with a portion of the strap on that plastic buckle that protrudes out in a very shapeless manner - I went back and returned the watch as I realized that if I keep it I may just have it for collection purpose but I wont wear it - and I didnt want that

I think this is a far better product than the Moonswatch, of which I own one.

For me, what made this a meh release is the fact we've seen the exact same thing before, and recently too.

People move on so quickly. By the time Swatch do the next Collab, everyone will be over it.
