Oris tried… But we all know the real Kermit 🐸

Do you think the premium is worth it?

More power to you my friend, but I just don't get the appeal of this Kermit, Hulk or Smurf.

Fair play. I don’t like the hulk either.. But i dont think the kermit is too much :-)..

It's a nice piece but I would wait a few more months as prices are going down and I think they might get close to MSRP.

·

I have a strict rule for Rolex. It is either MSRP at an AD or no deal. So no, imho, the premium is not worth it. BTW, I love my Hulk. Bought it out of the case back when Rolexes were available that way.

·

Hard to justify at current market price but awesome watch. If you have an 16610 just go buy a green aftermarket and enjoy the awesome look. Nobody would notice you don't have a maxidial. 🫡

·

It’s not bad. Is Kermit worth the premium, though?

Even Miss Piggy is over the current inflated market price of the one she loves.

They aren’t even in the same league or trying to do the same thing. Rolex did it best.

Quite hard to buy a five didget Rolex at an AD

Counterpoint - Oris literally did Kermit. Rolex did complicated serial numbers that needed nicknames first. lol

·

It's not worth the premium, but i'd still rather this than the Oris.

But if we're talking steel sports watch, dark dial, green bezel, it's the Longines Zulu Time for me. Special mention to the Tudor Harrods, would buy one if I didn't already have the Zulu Time.

I've had quite a bit of success since the "great shortage" at my AD. Yes, it takes time.

·

I have been a Rolex fan and owner for over 50 years but the last 15 or so I've seen a quality watch brand turn into an overpriced flex!! Sadly..I sold off all but three of my Rolex's because people were willing to pay insane prices for them. As far as the Kermit..I did not own that one but have a Hulk that I wear on a weathered leather strap. If i wanted the Kermit look I would have to go to the Harrods Tudor special edition..JMO Enjoy the hobby

This.

·

Oris made the real Kermit, the Rolex is just a homage to Kermit.

For a 16610lv it would take a Time Machine.

·

It's a nice watch but no, I don't think larger hands/indexes and a green bezel insert are worth the 5,000$ difference over a regular 16610.

Yes. Yes it is. 😎

Hey, I've been waiting over three maybe four years for a GMT Master 2. Been able to buy two others while waiting but still looking for my Batgirl (not to be confused with the Batman - It's all about the bracelet 😉).

·

I think the green bezel is worth the investment at retail. It looks great and appreciates more than the standard black bezel. I don’t, however, think it’s worth the money on the secondary market.

·

A Rolex is always a step up and always worth MSRP, no more though.

·

Congratulations bro. Nice pick up. I like it. If you love it. It’s worth it. Wear the hell out of it!

·

If it is to you yes . Beautiful timepiece

·

I would go with Oris ANY day over Rolex, or many other brands. With that being said, I would never buy the Kermit Oris..

·

I tried this on today and it really is stunning and feels great to wear. Maybe I’d be interested if I had £25k to throw around but in the meantime I’m more interested in the Tudors

·

I'd 100% go for the Oris. It's a fresh design, it's more reasonably priced, it's got personality, and it's fun. The Rolex is none of those things. The Oris isn't pretending to be a tool for an activity nobody will use it for, a status symbol, or privilege to spend your money on. It's just a cool-looking watch with an eye-searing dial color and goofy frog in the date window. I respect that.
