Point Broken - Watchcrunch visits Indian Beach

I had Bodhi dead to rights, cuffed, and he knew jail is his next destination.

Image

But he kept pushing me for a last surf.  The cops were landing in the copter and I had just seconds to decide.

Image

Yeah, he was a criminal, but also was my bra who taught me about surf and living free. I had to let him be free one last time. He couldn’t go anywhere, right? He paddled out into the monster surf.

As the cops walked up to me, we saw Bodhi disappear, getting ragdolled on the biggest rogue wave I’ve seen.   He didn’t come up.

Image

Bodhi, at last, had found his freedom.   And as I walked away from my stunned ex colleagues, I tossed my badge into the surf…

…I had finally found it as well

Re enactments of classic movies finished, we hiked up to some of the viewpoints above Indian beach. (Where several 80s and 90s movies were filmed. )

Elf hiding in tree, they do that.

Trail was a legit mountain climb so my 10 year old got crabby. but it was a gorgeous trail with some nice views at the top. Bag of chips and some drinks made the views even better.

Copious tree moss trail side resulted in a brief appearance of the Lorax

Late lunch of epic fish and chips in town of Cannon Beach

And after lunch had a nice time on the warm sand gazing at good ‘ol Haystack rock

Looks great!

Hope you had a great time and your 10 yr old wasn’t too much trouble 😂

Watch looks great 👌🏻

·

I love it!🍻🌊

Love to see posts like this 😍we need more of this on the crunch. It’s just gone 9am here in London. It’s grey, raining and my wife is at work (just me WC and the puppers) and this set of images is quite uplifting. I love seeing Crunchers sharing their part of the world along with their watches. Thanks for posting this, I’ll be thinking about that beach for the rest of the day 👌

Summer in the PNW is the best… Cannon Beach such a wonderful spot too. Looks like you guys had a great time!

·

Hahahah… classic! Did a double take on that stache 😂🤙

·

I love seeing these photos

It's been torrential rain here in the Midlands for weeks, so seeing some sunny beaches is a welcome break!

·

Love the mossy moe very funny :)

·

What a trip down memory lane with Point Break. Fantastic pictures as usual.

·

It’s great to see summer in full swing. It’s awesome to see all the vacations and summer activities being posted. The pacific north west is amazing. Great photos of some better memories. Your GS is outstanding by the way and looks up to the task.

·

Can't say the same for Rosie.

Can't say the same for Rosie.

Knife fighting is over rated😂 Rosie should have brought a gun to Mexico

Your photography is absolutely awesome!

It's funny when they were filming the final scenes with Patrick and Keanu on the beach. It was a beautiful day much like when you were there. Wind & Rain machines and provided the stormy Heralded 50 year storm affect.

·

Wow beautiful excursion! Loved the Point Break storyline. Oh, beautiful watch BTW!

·

Looks like a great day out

Goofing off and being a bit silly - but wifey and I had a good laugh while we were at it. Classic movie from out younger days!

NO WAY! Too funny. 😂

It did always strike me as weird, the intensity of rain isn't what we get in the PNW. Looked more like some tropical monsoon with near waterfall intensity.

Thanks Craig! Yes, 100%, we all try to fit in some crazy and sunny vacays before the long dark of fall, winter and spring kicks in!

That GS has a screw crown, is Ti, and on rubber. The spring drive is a bullet proof movement so the watch functions nicely as my Gshock 😉

Thanks my friend! Sometimes debate posting if I'm being too goofy or personal - but if it's enjoyed by any (i.e. you) makes me glad I did 🍻

It's easier to shoot in controlled rain storms, just never looks quite right. Still one of my favorite movies.

The 2015 remake....Not so much!

Cheers my friend 🍻

Wifey got a better pic - I was surprised how good a mustache it made. Better than my real one 😂😂😂. I should mention we also hit up the Portland rose garden, so needed a big lips shot with fallen petals
