Thatโs super cool. My father was in the aerospace industry for all of my childhood. He was also the person to get me into watches in the first place! He often talked about the idea of getting a Breitling.
I can still hear him say โif Iโm going to throw thousands of dollars down on a watch, itโs going to be a Breitlingโ
He sadly passed a couple years ago, and as I start my 30s, I often think about picking up a Breitling Aerospace, or even a Colt soon. I think these are also just plain cool. Iโm also a huge fan of quartz movements ๐ป
I have a WK2116-1 and a WN1150. One is a 2000 Classic from 2004, and one is a 1999 Exclusive. One is an auto and the other is a quartz. I paid less than $600 a piece, and less than $400 for the Exclusiveโฆ and it has a solid 18k gold bezelโฆ these are really slept on.
Hereโs a really great read on the history and model references by one of my friends over on the TH forums. http://tagheuerenthusiast.blogspot.com/2022/01/history-heuertag-heuer-2000-series-1982.html?m=1
And my WN1150
Iโm sure itโs going to be close to the original size. But Iโm sure it will be $1200+. I guess Breitling gets away with it with their Endurance Pro lol
If this is FR then Iโm going to be eating the words I said earlier this year. โTAG is trying to go upmarket, they will never reissue the plastic F1 series, and if they do, it will be over $1000 and wonโt sellโ ๐
60 minute count up timers are extremely useful day to day. I also find divers to be the most durable of watches. Iโve been fascinated with divers ever since I discovered the Rolex sub and Ulysse Nardin magazine advertisements as a kid.
