I was supposed to be window shopping
Well… once I saw it in person I had to have it.
I’m sure everyone knows exactly what this is so I won’t go on about the specs. First day of wear so I can’t really say much about it besides the fact that it feels much more expensive than it actually was… like really really nice. This is my second modern Mido, and I’m really liking the quality this SWATCH Group brand has been putting out.
I did get to try on the decompression diver while I was there, and I almost bought it, but didn’t have a bracelet option!
I’ve been eying this piece for a while now, but I was going back and forth between this, the Doxa sub200, Rado Captain Cook and a few other pieces, but the Ocean Star tribute took my breath away in person.
The shade of blue for the printed dial with pure white indexes, the hands, the bezel, the vintage inspired case, and the most dramatic domed sapphire crystal I have ever seen in person (besides the glass box Carrera)
I just couldn’t ignore this one. Nope. Not happening…

I picked up my Ocean Star Tribute a few months ago. I got the date only version which came with an additional rubber strap. Not easy to come by in the UK but am very pleased with it.
