My new watch and possibly my best watch ever bought

I have loved the Sinn brand since I first set eyes on one in 2014. I managed to buy an 857 UTC on rubber strap and then updated to a steel H link later. The U1 has been on my radar since this time too. Though the smaller U50 might get the nod over that one now.

I have loved many of the special series watches they produce and fell in love with the 836 which came out a few years ago with its stylish black dial and clear numerals on the black leather strap with red stitching, it was definitely a grail peice for me. However as time has gone by my taste for large over size watches has decreased and while the 836 is not massive I just couldn't bring myself to buy it because of its size on my wrist. Untill I discovered that Sinn had made a very similar looking watch in the shape of the smaller 556.

Early this year I decided to treat my self to a new Sinn as I had come through a difficult couple of years with health issues and a big change in my life style/ job situation. So I pulled the trigger on the 556A RS.

It finally arrived last week and it's absolutely perfect. I'm so glad I held out for the smaller 556 and not the 836. As I know it will get more wrist time.

Those look really good on a Bund Strap if you can stand it.  The Bund Strap doesn't work well for me but I see other people rockin them, especially in Europe.

Personally I would prefer the version without the numerals but still your 556 looks great! I think your black strap with red accents goes very well with the dial and the red second hand.

Yes I think they do look good. May try one myself, never thought about one before, thanks for the inspiration.

I like the Indices version but prefer the position if the date window and also the Matt of the dial. Butthe numerals are just more my style and add to its functionality for me.

True, and it’s more true to its pilot  watch style with those big numerals

love it, prefer on the steel bracelet

Perfect watch! Congrat👍🏽

I’m not a big Sinn fan myself. Like IWC, they make nice watches, but I don’t really get what the fuss is about. That said, this is a watch I might buy someday. It’s simple and looks great. Nice purchase, enjoy.

Cheers. I think they are a bit Marmite for some people. I love them the simple ones are the best for me.

IWC make some interesting pieces too.

Thanks, I couldn't be happier with it. Though I'll probably end up playing with different straps on it. Though this will not be going on a bracelet, which is unusual for me.

Sinn does Explorer far cheaper than Rolex and similar quality

One thing I’ll say is that there are several watches I initially didn’t like but have come to love over time. Like honestly, I didn’t get the Explorer at first, now it’s one of my favorite Rolexes. And the Royal Oak…that was tough to swallow when I first saw it. Anyway, I’m starting to appreciate both Sinn and IWC more.

Nice watch mate.  A real wrist presence.

I think our dogs may have been separated at birth. 😃🐕

Great choice. In many ways, the perfect watch. Even without the red seconds hand😊

Congratulations! Enjoy it! I'll been thinking about getting one...

·

Very nice. Sinn's designs are among the very best, to me.

·

That’s such a good looking watch. Makes me kinda sad I sold my Sinn U50.😢

Congratz and enjoy the watch! 🍻

·

Awesome watch! Love the strap, yesterday I ordered the same for my chaps.

What can I say, I'm a big fan of German watches and in particular Sinn. I'm looking at adding that exact watch to my collection at some point, so I definitely agree with your choice my friend, could be a one watch collection in my humble opinion 👍🏼

I intend to get watch with a bund strap in May. So if it works then I might invest in one for the Sinn. Although I think in the end I will get OEM H link bracelet for it.

I've currently got it on a rubber deployment strap from Zuludiver.
