Watch case size for you best?

This Seiko 5 opened my eyes to "smaller" watches. It's a 37mm case that fits perfectly on my 6.5" wrist.

Prior to this watch i was wearing a lot of 40mm car size watches and i thought they liked good. But after getting this Seiko 5 i realized that 36-38mm cases look perfect on my wrist. Of course when i put a G-Shock on the Rolex go out the window.

What size cases best fit you guys? Do you guys prefer smaller cases or biggwr ones?

I'm a "chihuahua" with a 6-1/2" wrist and prefer 38-40mm case sizes best ... though I do own a 37mm Seiko SNK and a 44mm Casio Duro, so there ya go! 👍 😎

·

I usually look first at the lug-to-lug distance. I like the lugs to taper down a bit and they shouldn't hang over the edges of my wrist. Second the diameter and I usually wear anything between 39 to 43. My Longines Conquest 41 mm wears very large whereas my Glycine Combat Sub wears smaller despite the larger 42 mm in diameter.

·

I havent figured it out yet but I have 40-44 in my collection and they all wear nicely and I think I could wear bigger too if I ever come across any bigger watches (hoping to try on some 47mm Panerais in the future)

·

I think I have that watch in white (SNK789) and I feel it's about the maximum for my 6.5" wrist. I prefer 34+/-1mm.

·

7 ish inch wrist and I prefer 36-38mm watches.

·

I feel like I can pull off. Any case sizes range from 36 mm all the way up to 52 1/2mm contingent on the lug length from end to end isn’t spilling over. At least in my mind all the sizes that range in between look good😅. I don’t particularly like any much smaller than that either even though I feel, it’s totally fine for men to wear a smaller watch if he chooses to.

·

Depends on the watch and purpose...I'll go 42mm on a diver with short lugs but 36mm on a Nomos is all my wrist can handle

·

As an official "Itty Bitty Wrist Committee" badge holder, anything from 36-40mm is best size for me, with L2L max at 50mm. I do have a SKX007 and a full size Casioak that wear fine on my 6.25" wrist though.

·

I'm a 7¾" wrist and some smaller watches look ridiculous on my big wrists. I do have a 38mm PR516 that wears/looks great and I have the very same Seiko 5 and again it looks and wears great. Generally though I like watches 42mm and above.

👌 36-38mm.

I have a 6.5 inch wrist and have been getting into smaller and smaller watches. Tried a 36mm Christopher ward sealander and was hooked on smaller watches. I like how compact they fee on the wrist, sometimes I forget I’m wearing them! My latest is a 33 mm Nomos Ludwig, and it wears exactly how I would like it too, the lugs matching the curvature of my wrist to a T, the thin case hugging my wrist. For me, the lug to lug distance is what I look at first. The lug to lug of a seiko turtle just actually just small enough to still be comfortable on my wrist too

·

It depends a lot on the type of watch for me, but seeing as I mainly collect dress watches, my preferred size ranges from 31mm to maybe 37mm.

A small watch has more wrist presence in my eyes, because of how one sees more of the bracelet/strap as well as sort of making the arm look a bit bigger.

Smaller side: 31,5mm Oris

Larger side (a little bit too big for me:) Seiko 5 SNKL81K1, 38mm

I have 17,5cm/±7in wrists, for reference.

Judging by my browsing history, I reckon I'll be downsizing my collection next year, and I don't mean the number of watches.

The watches that are catching my eye at the moment are in the 36mm-38mm range

·

40mm. Most of my watches are between 38-42, with one being a 45.

·

Over 40 for me, have 8.5" wrist, 42 or 43 if available but that is all dependent on brand and model

·

6 5/8 inch wrist here. 38-40mm with lug to lug less than 48 for me.

·

Like your typical only fans representative, I can take about any size.

I’d have to say it depends on the watch, I tried on a 40mm Rolex Explorer and didn’t like it, maybe because I’m used to the 36mm. I still like wearing my Seiko SKX/Turtle they’re way bigger than 36mm, but their lug to lug size makes them wearable for me. I also tried on the new Citizen 37mm diver, it looked too small for me.

·

I have a 7 inch wrist and have watches from 34mm to 45mm. The 34mm ones wouldn't look good larger, and vice versa. So I'm pretty indiscriminate. But it's not total chaos and anarchy. My Seiko SUP873P1 formal dress watch follows all the "rules" - 37mm, thin, minimalist, no second hand.

The 33mm Nomos dress watches look so proper!

They do indeed. And they're all dial, no bezel, and with long lugs, making them wear larger. However I have a Tissot Everytime Large (its actual name) that is 42mm, thin, and all dial no bezel. To me this watch looks as good as it does precisely because it's so large.

·

This 38mm case on my 6.5 inch wrist is perfect for me, +/- 2mm. Dive watches with a shortish lug length can push to 42mm, but that's the limit(to me).

I have a 7 inch wrist and find the perfect size to be a 39mm. It just drapes over it nicely. A 37mm looks great too, but the 39mm in my opinion is the most versatile for my wrist.

From 38mm to 42mm with lug to lug no larger than 50mm

·

Generally 36 to 39mm, lug to lug 48mm or below. But there are plenty of exceptions.

·

I’m comfortable with small (that’s what she said), having worn as small as 29mm and liking it. Optimum for dress watches for me ranges from 33mm to 36mm. Sports watches I can go bigger (that’s what she said) up to 40mm but 38mm seems the most comfortable. My Speedmaster Automatic is 39mm and I don’t have a problem with that. You want the best fit for the best experience—AND that is indeed what she said! Mic drop!

·

I have the smallest of all wrist size here. 6.15". Definitely the 37mm GS is a better wear for me than the Seiko 40mm. But both still works for me. It's just that whenever I wear the 40mm, I will always 'realize' that I'm wearing a watch. The presence is there. Whereas with the 37mm, I will go about my day like a normal person. 😄

I have a 7.5" wrist and 34mm to 36mm is my preferred size. It looks strange to me to see a watch faces covering the whole wrist.

The 33mm Nomos dress watches look so proper!

They’re really fun! I have 2, trying to decide which to keep: 33mm Orion or 33mm Ludwig. I think I may keep the Ludwig, originally I thought the Orion was gonna be for me, but the Roman numerals (which I normally hate on a watch), straight lugs and railroad minute track just make it feel more purpose built as a dress piece, which is what I want (though it’s gonna be an everyday wear I’ll be real with you). The Ludwig is the 375 years of the peace of Westfalia, and has leaf hands and an enamel dial, which also swings things in its favor :D

·

34-38mm diameter, 40-45mm LTL. That's my sweet spot.
