Cartier Tank or BB58 Blue

Which one would you partner with this? Or would you ditch this for the other pair ?

Tudor fanboy here but I think you add a little square into your life. Nice contrast to your Rolex.

can’t go wrong either way

The Tank is a classic, and if you dress up a lot, or simply appreciate watches that are a bit different from the norm, it's probably the better option, but the BB58 is more of a GADA watch.

Have you considered a Santos de Cartier instead of a Tank? It's a bit more versatile than the Tank, while still offering an iconic Cartier vibe with a rich history. I'd still like to add a Tank to my collection, but I opted for a Santos as my first foray into the world of Cartier, since I feel it straddles the line between dressy and casual a bit better than the Tank.

Nice collection 😍 can I ask what case that is ? Loving the purple cushions

I have considered it and actually owned the DLC coated rose gold 34mm version but I am so over the santos 100 range now. The tank is just so attractive to me and I rarely dress up at all.. I’ll be going full casual with it most of the time. Im not even sure I’ll be able to pull it off, either way, it’s tank or nothing for me when it comes to Cartier

The case is a Wolf Windsor. I really like them, as they provide sufficient space between watches to ensure that even large watches don't end up touching, they feel solid, and feature a glass display top. I also think they look nice, with the angled corners. I've found that the best place to buy them is Amazon. They are available in 5, 10 and 15 slot versions, and also in other interior colors.

I can certainly understand the appeal of the Tank. Cartier watches tend to be quite polarizing, and the Santos certainly isn't for everyone. I honestly can't decide if I prefer the design of Santos or the Tank, as I personally think they are both awesome. The SmartLink and QuickSwitch available on the Santos was one of the reasons I opted for the Santos.

I vote BB58

Love the OP. With that dial it's like the Dressplorer...

Seems like two different directions here. You current Tudor is a nice dress choice that can go casual. I think that’s similar to the Tank. The BB58 moves to the tool watch/sport category for me. I guess which one fits that next gap? Both are good choices.

·

I would say go with the one you like the most, and think you will enjoy wearing the most-instead of what rounds out the collection the most. That being said, I think you will diversify your collection more with the sportier BB8.

·

Quite frankly, the BB58 isn't up to the finishing standards of your Rolex or the Tank.  Don't get me wrong, the BB58 is a great watch 'for what it is' but I think it's about as much hype as substance right now.  The longer it stays in my collection, the closer it comes to being the first on the chopping block.

On the contrary, the longer I have the Tank, the more I appreciate it and find time to wear it.  I don't know that having a white dial Tank (classic look) with your silver dial Rolex provides enough contrast in colour or versatility.  Since you put selling the Rolex on the table, my suggestion would be the following:

Trade the Rolex towards the Glashutte Original SeaQ blue 39.5mm.  This will maintain or actually increase the finishing standards that you might expect at the Rolex level while giving some contrast to the Tank, which I suggest you add to provide much greater versatility in your choices.  The combination of the blue SeaQ and the white dial Tank may be one of the greatest two piece collections in this affordability range, using your Rolex to offset some of the expense.

·

This is some really great advice… thanks

ill he honest in saying that I don’t actually like the looks of the Glashutte that much but I have not seen or held one in person so I cannot judge.

I was actually thinking of the new tank must in green or blue to add colour to the collection.

This is why I feel like selling the Rolex and funding both of the other watches as I think it may itch my scratch and give me better options

I was always a fan of both but I’ve gone off the santos a bit. I’m only really  interested in the older caree and galbee versions

Waiting on delivery of a few straps, if I can make the op sporty enough then I think I’ll go tank, if not, I will go BB58 for sure !

I find myself "falling out of love" with my watches only to be glad I kept them after a few months of ignoring them.

It’s not so much falling out of love with it.  More like discomfort while wearing it. I’m not sure that’s going to go away.

·

I just got the Tank solarbeat. It is so amazing that I am wearing it all the time. It is very light weight and I don’t feel it on the wrist. However, downside is that it does not do well with water, so need to be careful what you do with it.

BB58 on the other hand can just go everywhere and do everything. Both are excellent choices to go with your Rolex.

·

OP - Did you have a post the other day questioning the bracelet logo on your Rolex?  I like Rolex, but if you have an issue with it, I'd say let it go for something else.

If you've gotten over that and really like it now, then add the Tank (and get an affordable sports watch like a Scurfa to wear to the beach or whatever).

·

I see that the OP is growing on you! Rolex magic! And to your question: 100% the Cartier Tank for me.
