I'm torn because I love my gentleman powermatic 80. It does have the 25 jewel movement with silicon balance spring and from my research it is the 23 jewel movements that have the plastic. My watch only runs +4 seconds and the folks at Excuisite Timepieces will service it (weather that's in house or its sent out and fully replaced I can't say) I would personally say if your concerned about the plastic parts just research which powermatic is in the watch. Side note, the high tech part is that the watch is laser regulated by tissot, not because the plastic pallet fork and escapement.
