When the AD pulls through!

So there I was, cruising my local Walmart for a loaf of garlic bread and easy cheese when WHAM! There it was! A beautiful rare Timex Denver Broncos watch! And right after they suffered the horrendous loss yesterday 17-16. Was it a sign from the gods?

I immediately hit the service button with all my strength to let the AD know i was serious. As they do in these high end shops I'm quickly told to wait my turn and take a number. This is one of those "we'll get an agent to you soon" type of place even when theres 4 ADs and 2 customers. Helps keep the serious spenders around and the riffraff get bored and leave. But I was here to BUY!

I was immediately taken back by its solid diamond viewport looking onto the hand painted meteorite dial. The used syringe hands are carved out of African Locust legs! How cool is that! And they hit every second marker with a crisp tick. Tick. TICK

In case your all thinking this is just some Quartz Hublot type of watch your sorely mistaken. The case is forged in the iron mills of Pennsylvania by a crusty old man covered in soot and scars. Hands covered in calluses and a beard like a viking. The strap the watch came on is sourced from Himalayan Silkworms of the highest breed and handwoven by a monk. I did remove that and threw on a simple Montreux kvd band just to give it some more pop! Even if it cheapens the experiance. I'll probably move the strap onto a Jacob and Co. if they ever make a decent watch.

And the LUME! I don't know how they did it but it's applied over the meteorite dial just 2 microns thin. Some fancy translucent stuff that can only be seen in the dark so as not to muddle up the dial.

All in all this was a tremendous find, I wish we all didn't have to deal with snobby ADs at times and everyone should have a chance to wear a bajillion dollar watch to feel what real luxury is. Until then I'll continue to live in my fantasy world collecting watches.

Well written. Frrst, love the watch, Broncos not so much as I've been a Raiders fan since 1975. But I digress; secondly I don't know what you do for a living but if its being a writer or comedian your in rhe right line of work!

I was actually very impressed by the glow. I bought an extra battery because I'm sure I'll wear the first one out fast lol

I want that Hamilton plane so bad. I tried to bribe the local dealer but he said they’re not allowed to sell it. Every now and again one pops up on eBay. Guess I’ll have to go gray.
