18 total, 12 in my core collection and 6 shall we say, "strays" ... all budget pieces (and by budget, I mean INEXPENSIVE), except a Tissot LeLocle "Diamond" that was a 10 year service gift from my employer ... and even that one isn't EXPENSIVE like a Rolex or Omega! LOL!
My ad assured me that he would eventually receive a 75th anniversary summer blue series Planet Ocean for me to buy, in the interim, I could examine the model being reserved for one of his very special customers who visits his familyโs other boutique in a few months time for his annual shopping day. Apparently he is a gent that I know socially who typically purchases as many as 40-50 watches at one time. The watches are for his massive private collection of modern timepieces. I am not that controversial or perhaps insane, presently own north of 40 watches, am finally reflecting on an exit from the hobby.
I also have 9 right now after selling 2 of mine and buying a new one.
But, i don't wear 4 of them for the last 2,5 years.
The one's I don't wear:
A Fossil automatic ( ๐ ), it is huge and heavy...
An automatic Citizen Titanium (looks and wears very nicely tbh, but its water resistance is not sufficient for my daily use and rotor sound is annoyingly loud ๐ )
A very thin black dial Skagen (which my wife bought for our wedding 10yrs ago), couldn't find time to change the battery
An extremely super slim titanium skagen, couldn't find time to change the battery
The ones i wear (a lot):
Longines Spirit 40mm White Dial
Longines Conquest Automatic 41mm Black dial
Casio G-Shock GM-S2100-3AER (Metal case Green dial and strap)
ClaudeBernard Slimline Automatic Gold PVD with cream sunray dial
Most probably gonna be the most worn one for me ever together with the Spirit: A new Nomos (god finally!!!!) watch that i'm waiting to be delivered within this week.
for me when it is about collection, it is not about a number, it is about to have each category collection like: automatic, quartz, panda, digital, analog, sport, clasic, field, pilot, diver, complication
Iโm at 22 including my earliest Fossil and Timex. Plus maybe a dozen vintage. My wife is at 25. Thereโs some we can share back and forth with a strap or bracelet change.
I have 15 watches. 12 in my watch box(weekend and holidays watch), 1 Casio (everyday beater), and finally my grandfather watch and the Pulsar my parents gave me for my communion
Hello ๐ I'm 34 y.o and for the last 2 years I discovered that I really have a passion for watches, especially vintages and especially Japanese ๐ and what I love more than that is to repair/maintain...

I'm just ahead of you with 11
Just ahead of that with 12 - but no. 13 on its way ๐คฉ
If the controversy relates to excessiveness, all I can say is I am probably one of the most controversial on here ๐คฃ
36. Mostly G's, a handfull of budget casios and 5 automatics/ handwinders.
According to wifey too much. But what does she knows?!

๐คฃ Well, I've met a guy a month or 2 ago, who had @90 GS and KS ๐๐ (in the meantime he dropped his collection to 60 because of wifey ๐)

Incidentally, my wifey reads this. ๐ง
Was around 33-34.
Now just 6. ๐
Somewhere north of 40. Maybe over 50 if one counts "projects" and pocket watches...

My son started collecting watches ๐ฅบ
5 - 8, depending whether you count pocket watches, those needing service and those that aren't viable to be repaired.

I have 18, but I think that's me done for a few months, or at least I'll be swapping out rather than increasing the collection.
for me when it is about collection, it is not about a number, it is about to have each category collection like: automatic, quartz, panda, digital, analog, sport, clasic, field, pilot, diver, complication
18 in my core collection with another 6 on the side
N - 1
Where N is the perfect number of watches
I have 5
I am an old head...30+....๐
27. I only wear 16 of them. No controversy.

I have around 30ish. Iโm not sure itโs all that controversial though. Itโs a hobby.
I have 15 watches. 12 in my watch box(weekend and holidays watch), 1 Casio (everyday beater), and finally my grandfather watch and the Pulsar my parents gave me for my communion
Current count stands at 28 with 3 pre-paid on their way.
