Oh Sweet Jesus (Navas)….

I was wondering why when they announced the recent 35mm PRX Powermatics, the PVD gold was absent. Well here it is….I want me a visit to my local Tissot AD and to try this thing on…..

Vintage with modern specs look 🤩🤩🤩

Don't take the Lord's name in vain, but this is indeed the final form that this watch sought to be. Well, real gold would be even cooler, or rather hotter, but everyone has budgets to stick to.

·

Hoping Tissot release a 40mm automatic variant in gold. I was waiting to let go off my green dial for the ice blue but this is much better, gold suits the vintage design. Budget VC 222 vibes.

·

Wow!! Don’t make me get one Nooooo!!

Stunning imo!! But let us know how it looks in person and the wear too!!

Sorry - meant Navas (he of Sevilla/Man City and sparkly bue eyes fame) as opposed to the more ‘famous’ one.

The could compromise and gold plate it, I suppose. A solid gold version may mean keeping it under the cuff away from thieving eyes….I do sometimes wonder how ‘high’ the Swatch Group allow each of their brands’ prices end up going.

Until you mentioned it, I always thought it existed!

Now that the 35 gold powermatic is here, I’m sure its just a matter of time before 40mm is announced. The ‘plainer’ sunburst dial of the quartz version definitely had more than a whiff of the VC222 about it. Now if this PRX had a matt, cream coloured dial too….😍

For years, I disliked gold watches and I disliked gold plated/filled/PVD watches even more.

Just thought they looked too ostentatious (and I think they still do, on the whole) but some have recently changed my mind a little.

I really don’t want to go into the AD - there’s other things I’m trying to save up for…😂

Same here! But as of late like you, I warmed up to gold’ish pieces… I dunno maybe getting old does that hahaha!!

This PRX looks amazing. This is what it should have always been.

The quartz variant in gold existed in both sizes. The 40mm had vertically brushed matte dial almost similar to 222 which is really beautiful. The 35mm quartz variant has a sunburst dial.

Tissot could have dropped the waffle dial for the gold variants but the waffle dial has become the identity for the Powermatic 80 variant.

That's a massive price difference you've mentioned there!!

Did you try on the 40mm PRX? Size-wise I'd say the 35mm equates a lot closer to the Seiko.

I liked the quartz 35mm (just fits me nicer) but I would have had to 'butcher' the watch and remove the seconds hand....😢

I'd like to see the dial in person - if it really does look as nice as it does in the photos - they're definitely onto a winner imo. I've seen it on the 40mm but the size and colour would make a significant difference for me

I totally agree with you. If it looks as good as I think it will, then I will seriously consider picking this one up.

Been waiting for this too. For fun, wanted to see what a rose gold version would look like… using some of their old logos and ditch the rest of the text. Funny enough I think I like the oldest variation that was a simple wordmark Tissot with “Swiss” underneath… though I love that old cursive logo quite a bit too.

I’ll need to take a visit to AD when these come in for sure.

Not me nah , gold chains rings etc just look tp me personally “ too try hard” . Now Platinum, now your talking. Only you and a very few people would recognise a platinum watch case .

Looks like I'm trouble... I like quartz, but the 35mm quartz had a superboring dial pluss the risk of getting one where the second hand doesn't hit the markers. But now we are cooking with fire 🔥

·

MAJOR Vacheron 222 vibes🤩

·

Called it. I want one now. Screw the Explorer.

If I had gotten the quartz, I would have removed the seconds hand….!

There’s room for both, right?? 😉

This watch was built to star in a retro movie with big Hollywood names and lots of Oscar nominations like these films

Unlike the very cool gold tone watch that is a much bigger hit than this flop

Brad Pitt has become a huge VC 222 fan lately, wearing them all the time. Theo & Harris just did a video on this.

The PVD plating looks good in pictures, but I’ll be holding out for the 14k solid. I know that really blows the PRX price point, but heck, if G-Shock can do it! 😉

Haha - that might have to be a special edition. Not sure the last time Tissot made a full 14k gold watch?

Nothing like my WC friends to make me look something up and learn! Turns out they have an 18k model thats about $3k in quartz and $4k as an automatic, albeit with a leather band only. Hope springs eternal, I guess!

Thanks for digging! 4k for full gold would definitely be worth waiting for! Although I suspect, with the bracelet as well it might be a tad more…
