Just for Fun! What would Solid Snake wear?
Okay guys like I said it’s all just for fun & like hey James Bond’s not real so if your into games and a fan of Metal Gear Solid like myself what do you think?
BTW I’m focusing on MGS2 as I think it’s Snake in his prime.
He is obviously a military guy, special agent all that Bond stuff and has to be under the radar so NO smart watch would do for his missions.
My picks would be all Dive watches as he does enter the water a lot.
1) Pelagos 39 = strong & lightweight as he carry’s tons of equipment.
2) Seiko Arnie = obvious reasons
3) G-shock Frogman = multifunctional diver
Please let me know what your picks and why? 🐍

The design language of the frogman you picked seems the most similar to the designs of various things (robots, fictional vehicles and equipment, etc) in that game series. Plus it's a good match, functionally.

Thanks, I have an older Gen of Frogman myself and it just makes so much sense the old Digital versions were better , much easy to view & more functions
Definitely the frogman or any multifunctional g-shock, you see it has to be digital to be visible whenever necessary, timers, stopwatches, etc, aesthetically they fit his image too

He wouldn’t wear a smart watch due to the fact he is involved in Espionage , sneaking into to forbin areas , the enemy would be able to detect it with some sort of Device 🫣
Needs to be off the grid
Plus missions could be days or weeks he won’t be able to charge the smart watch 😝

Snake is a 1 watch warrior. Marathon GSAR.
Think I would insist on Grants Spectre watch from the second bond film . Ideal for that up close and personal garot .

I think snake would have a milsub & his trusty pack of Mosler smokes , he’s an analogue man in so many ways.

Some sort of high tech digital watch. Also, it would have to be from the 2000s as that’s the era of Snake you’re referencing. Something that could resist an EMP would be a big plus.
I’d reckon some kind of basic G-Shock or the Timex Ironman. We know that Solid served in the US Army up until 1995, and he would’ve probably picked up the ubiquitous DW6600 around that time.
That would’ve also been something that he’d continue to use and wouldn’t even look out of place in his “Iroquois Plisken” persona.
We also know that he hates smoking cigars and using CQC, because he felt Big Boss (known for the above two) had betrayed the US - and since we know Big Boss would’ve worn a Seiko, I doubt Solid would’ve liked wearing a Seiko

Works with the stealth! What that new one made from? Don’t know if it’s gonna be tough enough? Maybe perhaps the US Navy black FXD instead?

I think Snakes always been very versatile , can dive or use any weapon in any situation ,
I probably would choose Seiko by choice if you put it that way but would still take it if it was given by Hal or someone else on the team?

If it’s a Seiko, I could imagine him wearing one of their digital dive computers. The SBDK001 would be period-appropriate. I often imagine that Raiden or Snake would prefer digital because well, of all the countdown timing they’d have to do.
Or, probably Otacon would build him something very custom, probably linking the Codec to an actual interface that you can see their faces for video calls.
