What do you think of this 18k rose gold meteorite dial by Formex? I like it 🔥

I like the color, but personally I don't like watches that are not legible. The date and some of the text blends in which could be a plus or minus depending on your tastes.

I needed around five seconds to find the date. The hands seem to contrast de dial a little but its hard to say.

How many meteorite that fallen and retrievable to be processed to creat this dial? Lately, everyone claiming meteorite, lovely texture, but if it isn't from a true meteor, don't call it meteorite. I know most of the meteorite are stored in the museum or research facility, are selling them for funding or profit now? The artificial gem stones dial are more acceptable since they are structurally the same as the natural one, just the creation is in the lab. Stop calling them meterorite if it is not from outer space. And what is the possibility that a meteorite only contains single material without other materials.

My understanding is that it is very very difficult to create the wim-something patterns seen on meteorite, so I think it’s safe to assume it’s actual meteorite. It think it’s just a more common “mineral” that we think (a la diamonds).

Personally I love a date that blends in! But I rarely use the date so that’s just me. I think this is a really beauty.

Would have preferred the numbers being in white or no date, what's the point in having a date if you can't read it 🤔

Formex is doing lots of great things. This is another hit IMO. The Essence is an amazing modern sports watch.

Meteorite dials have never really been my thing. I love the Formex, enjoy the color/tones, but would probably pass on the meteorite. Buuuut, I have come around ever so slightly on this and I don’t dislike them as much as I used to. So there’s that. 😂

And that single piece of dial consist only gold? Do you know how many impurities in an ore? And how many proceses to purify it? If it is without impurity, it is likely to be artificial. Even natural polished diamond has traces of other substance in it, that is why we have 4 Cs with diamonds and other gems. Call it meteorite pattern would be more honest like lab grown gems.

I love my Formex Essence but definitely not a fan of this variant.

Then it is a gold plated piece of mineral, thus it is not meteorite pattern dial, just gold plated whatever under it. Well aren't we all justify our purchase, believe and etc, I guess this is one of them.

Maybe I misused the word “mineral” (is a meteorite found in the ground not a mineral?) but to be clear, this is a slice of meteorite that was in space and fell on earth that they then plated in gold. I do not own this watch nor intend to fwiw.

I read in other post that it is a piece of meteorite found in sweden and the nature of the watch is limited edition, this limited edition is more make sense, I am a bit confused with many brands claiming that their dial is meteorite, are they all real. And the gold plating is unfortunate, those mixed mineral or metal condensed and burned (purify only for those that can the heat) at the atmosphere created the pattern, so covering them in gold beats the aesthethic, perhaps to prevent oxidation since it is a mixed metal some more reactive than others.

This one is better than the gold plated one.
