I recently returned a watch because I didn’t like the look of Arabic numerals on the dial. They were also imprinted on rather than placed which is my preference. I didn’t think I’d mind the numerals but I actually did.
I always enjoy whenever your post a piece of your collection. Timex was where I started and has such an interesting history as an American icon. Always looking forward to seeing more from you Badger!
I think it needs to be thoughtfully designed and it’s placement carefully considered. It’s a useful complication, but to some people, it’s probably unnecessary; particularly if it’s worn and wound frequently.
That said, I love it on the Orient Star, but that’s also a watch I want for myself so there could be bias on my part.
I think it looks excellent
I really can’t recommend the Seiko 5 collection enough. You can find them for roughly $100 on Amazon US. My favorite watch in my collection is my Seiko 5 SNKL23. It was massively popular a few years ago before I started getting interested in watches thanks to an article in Hodinkee. I’ve only been interested in watches for about 3 months, and everything I’ve seen and read about this watch is absolutely true. It’s a stunner and looks far more expensive than what I paid for it. You get an automatic mechanical movement, a stainless steel case that can be dresses up or down, and impressively detailed dial. There’s a reason people went nuts for it. It’s a watch that punches far, far above its weight class.
