I don’t put future value into my thinking when I buy a new watch. I want to buy pieces that are appealing to me and within my financial means. I suppose I’ll leave them to my daughter some day, and she can keep or sell them after I’m gone, but right now, my collection is for me to wear and enjoy. I’m not trying to get a ROI on my Bulova or Seiko. I bought them because I liked them.
Yes. There’s no reason other than for marketing and if a guy finds a watch too feminine he can simply pass it over. Same thing for women. There isn’t any need to distinguish watches by gender and I think labeling them as such steers people away from watches they would otherwise like.
I actually came across a video that explained a bit of why some collectors/watch repair shops dislike Timex.
