The Hamilton Murph Issue

I feel it is nearly the perfect watch, but before I buy it I know I want a bracelet for it. Leather and rubber irritates my skin, and NATO straps just seem to ‘cheap’ it up for me. Is there a perfect fit or near perfect fitting bracelet available for it?

Maybe a mesh bracelet? They always have straight ends anyway.

Hamilton makes one for their Intramatic series that should work if you want one from the OEM:

I’ve considered it, I know the Alpinist Jubilee that Strap code sells fits it but the end links are a bit wobbly and I want to keep this piece near perfect.

Does anyone know if the case shape of the Murph is the same as the Khaki Field Automatic? If it is, then bracelets for the SARB017 should work.

That’s a great question and would solve this issue for me if it is the same 🤞🏻

I edited my response to have a link to Hamilton's OEM mesh bracelet, just in case you missed it.

Nice pic!

I love the bracelet on my KFA 42mm, if it's the same lug width I'd def consider

·

Milano bracelet. That's it. I've seen a post here on WC, a Murph 38 on a Milanese bracelet and this picture made me buy this. I still didn't get a Milanese for it tho.)

Also I've tried some suede straps, but I assume that those are gonna be irritating too.

A Seamaster bracelet would look good imo, but I don't know if the dimensions would fit. It is also difficult to buy it separately, I was looking for a 20mm one but I couldn't find it anywhere

Love that watch & interstellar. Great great movie & one that’ll speak to most fathers out there.

I have mine on a Sailcloth strap

This is what I plan to get for mine. Love the look.

If you haven't tried fluorine rubber it's worth a try. It's smooth and so much better than the other stuff. Miles better than silicone.

Fine mesh would look great on this watch

This one may not be as well made as the OEM mesh bracelet Hanilton makes, but it’s been on my wrist for about 2 years every day and hasn’t fallen apart. Check out this mesh bracelet

As a few others have mentioned, I really do think the alpinist bracelet options from Strapcode are your best bet. If you're worried about getting the end links to sit perfectly flush with the case, I've found that using thicker spring bars sometimes helps to create less give/wobble with the end links (just make sure they still seat into the spring bar holes properly). I have a bunch of bracelets from Strapcode and they always send a pair of spring bars with, so you could start with those and see if they offer a better fit than the stock ones.

They actually use the Murph in one of their model photos for the bracelet!

Hamilton Murph 38mm / wrist size 17cm

There is a noticeable gap, but I can live with it! Feels great on wrist. I have swapped it out with various NATO and sometimes wear it on a brown leather strap too (posted photos of each). Hope this helps! ✨☺️

Just made a comment on this, but in some cases I've been able to reduce this type of gap by using a thicker pair of spring bars, provided that they still seat into the spring bar holes properly.

Ah, good catch! I missed that!

Looks like Strapcode lists their 20mm Super-O as fit-for the 38mm Murph.

These are a game-changer in hot and humid climates. You can get the perfect fit with some stretch to spare. One of my go-to’s in the summer for certain watches.

Leather, Cooper gave his daughter a leather one.

I like the look, but allot of leather irritates my skin, guess I sweat to much 💁🏻‍♂️😂

It would look great on mesh, lots of good choices out there for that.
