Tsuyosa... It's a nice enough watch, but not at full price.
Got mine via creationwatches.com for about half-price and feel it was good value.
Hey... Remember that time I spent $20g on a couple of crap tickets to the SuperBowl? I wanted to get something to commemorate the occasion... So I spent $45g on a gold watch!
I suppose if I had the funds... 🤔
I own the SSK005 and enjoy it.
You'll be able to find the same movement (NH34) in many watches from microbrands found online (and many of those will be on Ali Express).
At the same price point as the Seiko, you'll be able to get some better-spec'd watches (nicer bracelets, sapphire glass, for example) but will not have the brand name recognition. Decide what's important for you.
I like having the Seiko-branded watch, but also found a lot of value in a Steeldive SD1970 when I wanted to try something with a turtle-style case, for example.
try calling them at (800) 461-4189, ask to be put on the email list.
I went through old emails to see if I could find the email address, but no luck yet.
Location is in Markham, near 404 / Steeles. it's not a store-front. It's a warehouse and repair facility, but occasionally they operate these sales out of the back.
This was my first and only SRPD... there are so many attractive combinations of dial / bezel on these models, plus the various bracelet or strap options.
This one is the SRPD85, which is a brown, mud-textured dial, on a brown nato (changed to silicon b/c I don't like nato). The case is tinted brown, and the hardware on the stock nato strap matches.
Someone on YouTube called it the ugliest Seiko 5 out there... and yet, I loved it. Plus - not too popular, so it was about $220 Canadian shipped to my door (Canadian MSRP is $375 plus taxes, etc).
Enjoy yours - it's a solid piece.
