Finally pulled the trigger on an SRPD!!
Ever since I entered a watch shop in the state next to where I live and saw this model on display, I couldn't get it off my mind. 2 months later and here it is in my possession 😃. Personally this design speaks to me in a lot of ways. Instant favourite in my collection.

I've felt this way about the SRPJ33. The other "Tortoise" models are nice but like yours, for whatever reason, the colorway on this one just works for me.

This was my first and only SRPD... there are so many attractive combinations of dial / bezel on these models, plus the various bracelet or strap options.
This one is the SRPD85, which is a brown, mud-textured dial, on a brown nato (changed to silicon b/c I don't like nato). The case is tinted brown, and the hardware on the stock nato strap matches.
Someone on YouTube called it the ugliest Seiko 5 out there... and yet, I loved it. Plus - not too popular, so it was about $220 Canadian shipped to my door (Canadian MSRP is $375 plus taxes, etc).
Enjoy yours - it's a solid piece.

That person on YouTube probably has high standards cause I don't find that ugly at all. A unique one right there. Cheers!
