S. O. T. C. C. (state of the Citizen collection)

That's the one that started it all.

I was turning 23 and wanted a new watch. I found the Promaster (seen above) at a local mall, and was smitten.

The analog/digital combination was (and is) something I have an affinity for. I had owned some Timex Expedition-type watches, but was flustered that I had to change the digital and analog times separately. Couldn't something have a digital interface to control the analog hands?

Citizen did! Maybe others did too, but I didn't know, and this was 1991.

My girlfriend at the time was going to cover some of the cost of the watch, which was pretty pricy at the time, and I'd cover the rest. However, I ended our relationship on my birthday as a present to myself, as she was nuts. I figured out a way to get the watch in my possession regardless (think my folks helped with some of the cost instead).

You may have noticed it's not running. Well, the pushers haven't worked properly for a while, so I can't change the time, and it eats batteries like I eat M&M's. I had brought it to Citizen a few times for minor work, but the techs advised it's $$$ to get it back to good running condition now. That was my everyday watch for a long time, so no hard feelings.

I've since acquired a collection of Citizen Eco-Drives , and for my first SOTC post I thought I'd concentrate on these for now.

The top 3 are identical in terms of function. They are all World Chronos with the Atomic Timekeeping. I recently changed the stainless steel bracelet on the Blue Angels for the blue silicone, and the gunmetal bracelet for the green silicone. I've had the blue angels for a long time, then the black one, and got the green in December.

Of note in the 2nd pic -

My 4th Atomic timekeeping watch is the Skyhawk. Beside that is a piece from the "Primo" collection. I originally wanted the one with the orange stripe, but got a great deal on the one with the white and really like it.

Below that are my two Promaster SSTs. These have a wicked chrono display (the upper-middle subdial measures seconds and 1/10 seconds).

I'll probably add a few more Citizen to my arsenal, but admittedly enjoy branching out. Lately I've been into automatic / mechanical instead of quartz.

Thanks for letting me share! Look forward to any questions or comments.

They've all served me well, and I've had no issues with all but the one mentioned.

That old Promaster is the most russian looking Japanese watch I have ever seen.
