Super What Edition?

I'm on the email distribution for a watch boutique in Las Vegas and got a newsletter this week. Scrolling down I came upon on an article about this thing. I don't know what to think about this thing other than, "WHY?" But then again, I know why: shameless money grab.

Definitely not very well executed marketing

It looks like a nice watch, I kinda like it in gold, but the Super Bowl branding is absolutely stupid.

Definitely agree to it being a money grab. This represents as little effort as possible but at least there isn’t anything too gaudy or ridiculous on the watch dial.

I do think it would be interesting to see a limited edition though - maybe if the dial adopted the color scheme of the LVIII, or even better a limited edition celebrating the winner using the teams colors in a tasteful manner (and NOT what Invicta does). I imagine a number of well-off Chiefs fans (who actually attended the SB) wanting to celebrate/remember the victory... especially if they also gifted the team with the watch. Hell, just get a couple shots with Taylor Swift and you’ll have the best-selling Breitling in years. 😂

Hey... Remember that time I spent $20g on a couple of crap tickets to the SuperBowl? I wanted to get something to commemorate the occasion... So I spent $45g on a gold watch!

I suppose if I had the funds... 🤔

I know that Breitling has many NFL players/ embassadors. It's just another way to grow the brand.

Now knowing that 10% of the proceeds will go to charity, I'll take back a bit of my criticism but I don't know that the Super Bowl LVIII branding adds that much to the cache of the model.

I find it a little odd how all of a sudden a luxury watch company decides to make a Watch Celebrating a SB winning team. How come we never saw anything like this from a luxury company before? Oh that’s right it’s because of Taylor Swift.

It’s because of Swift if she wasn’t dating a player no one would be making this.
