Rotation

I have been wondering about this for a while. How often does everyone here rotate watches? Is it a daily rotation? Every other day? Weekly? Or do you just wear what you wanna wear even if it’s the same watch 6 days in a row?

Are you like me and wear the same watch but change the band/strap/bracelet to go with your outfit? I figured I’d ask since I sometimes question my antics. For example. Today I have the PRX Powermatic 80 on its Bracelet.

Yesterday it was on a rubber strap.

The day before that I wore my panda chrono on leather.

usually switch up my watches every other day, but really it just depends. What about you guys? How often do you rotate your EDC’s?

I look at the box in the morning and whatever speaks to me that day is what I wear…. dependent on what I’m doing.

That’s a good strategy. Haha

Everyday

Just walk over to the watch box, open that sucker up, and see what Watch it’ll be today

How do you decide? Just Willy Nilly it is there an analytics factor? Haha

·

I wear my watches depending on the event or activity I’m going to. Once or twice a week, I need to into the office wearing a suit. So those are dress watch days. And if I’m wearing a French cuff or regular cuff dress shirt, then t I have to go with a narrow thickness dress watch. And depending on my casual outfit, that helps dictate what watch I wear. I know most guys don’t care about outfits and fashions, but since I own multiple watches, it’s a fun way to wear different watches.

My problem is I think too much. Haha

Two thoughts to decide my watch …what am I wearing and what am I doing.

Hey man, I get it, I do too. Let your watches be an area where you let go of the overthinking. Because at the end of the day, it’s only a watch, and you can always take it off or change it.

·

I try to decide the night before and set out a watch for the following day. Sometimes I’m wrong, and go pick out something different.

Sometimes a watch is too tight, or too loose in the morning, so I have to grab something else unless I want to get out tools and make adjustments (only to have to re-adjust it later when the wrist changes size again).

There’s no rhyme or reason to any of it.

I don’t care much about fashion per se, but my belt, shoes, and leather watch band all have to match or I risk lighting myself on fire because of OCD. Haha

Mood. What am I wearing? Where am I going? Have I worn it in a while? Am I on the wrong side of the date wheel? Many factors. I have no loyalty or plan to ensure they get evenly rotated.

Smart man. I should try that instead of staring at my watch box like Homer Simpson looking at donuts.

I’m glad I’m not the only one who deals with the tightness in the morning.

I usually have few work watches, since my work requires to around hard surfaces and sometimes really greasy it varies depending on the call. I fix comercial Dishmachis, Laundry Dispensers and Pool Chemicals Dispenser. So I don’t want to scratch any of my dressing watches. But when I get home from work I reward my self wearing any watch that I think is time to wear even if is just for the rest of the evening. It’s a nice feeling for me my self and I.

I wear different watches for different occasions. But if those different occasions don’t occur, then I’ll just wear my Speedy everyday and yes I do change the straps a lot. Couple times a week probably, and certainly to coordinate outfits and/or work uniform.

Straps can make a 1 watch collection a 5 watch collection.

I pick the watch that is suitable for what I’m doing that day. I do also swap the straps out to match my outfits, I find picking straps with bolt action spring bars makes this process so much easier.

I agree. Quick release straps are life savers.

I have a beater watch which I wear as and when, a golf watch for golf, and my Rolex which is primarily an investment. The remaining 39 are worn on a rota basis according to a spreadsheet.

YOU HAVE A SPREADSHEET!?! 😂😂😂

·

I never wear the same watch from day to day. Often will change a watch during the day.

YOU HAVE A SPREADSHEET!?! 😂😂😂

I have my 82 watches on a spreadsheet but only to keep track of them. Choosing which to wear is an emotional decision.

·

I pick my outfit first, then I pick the watch to go with it.

If I'm going to the office (business casual) it's either the Monta Noble, Omega Aqua Terra or Oris Big Crown Pointer Date

If it's the weekend and I'm purely casual, I'll wear my Seiko Tuna, or my Citizen Promaster Orca or my Seiko 5 Sea Urchin. Depending on what I am wearing, I might also wear the Omega or the Monta, but I usually don't go for the Oris as it's on a very dressy bracelet.

If I am doing something athletic or hands on (yard work, going to a theme park or bicycling), then I'll wear one of my three G-Shocks.

I have 12 watches in the collection, but only 9 in rotation and those mentioned above are the nine.

·

one or two days each wristwatch, only on weekends maybe I wear it up to four days but in general I try to rotate them every day, yesterday and today this Chopard

·

I change watches after work, in the evening when I get home. Sometimes daily, sometimes every few days and rarely just every week or so.

Tend to wear the same watch all weekend though.

Whatever makes me happy.

·

It varies. Some weeks is a different watch every day, sometimes it's the same watch for several days or weeks in a row. No real rhyme or reason, just whatever suits my fancy that morning.

·

i sometimes just go and wear three watches in a week then change the rotation next week... nowadays, though, i just go up to my watch box and see what i want to wear today (and fall in love again)

·

For me some watches are seasonal (summer vs winter watches), some are weekly rotators (versatile GADA watches) and some are special occasion watches. And so my rotation is a bit messy - also because some days you just have to put on your beloved Seiko diver.

·

I have three boxes on a shelf, and another box for the quartz watches. I think about what outfit I'm going to wear today, and then narrow it down the selection. If it comes down to two watches, I'll pick the one that has been worn less.

·

YOU HAVE A SPREADSHEET!?! 😂😂😂

NO, I have 4 spreadsheets actually.

  1. A record of when the watches have been worn and are due to be worn

  2. Another spreadsheet giving exact details of each watch

  3. The third one details the exact layout with a picture of each watch. My watches are laid out according to type and size

  4. The last spreadsheet details the movement details of each watch

·

I would give it a thought the night before, decide. Have the watch wound-up & ready for it to go in the morning. Problem is, I keep changing my mind before the day starts!
