The Uber wealthy see things so differently from those of us who earn paychecks that one could say that they live in different universe. As such, they have a very different world view. Any advice, commentary, or judgement is derived from that world view. A Venn diagram with our crowd would likely show very little overlap.
I know the strap is the subject of your post, and the watch is very handsome with the new strap. But the first thing that popped in my mind when I saw the photo (before I read your post), was "hail small seconds."
I've always preferred quartz when it comes to chronographs. I don't ever want to pay for the service or try to find someone local with the skills necessary to properly service a complicated movement.
