Quartz watch with sweeping second hand

Hey everyone!

i’m new here and i would need some help of watch fans. I bought a Roamer Mechaline Pro with a black dial and i love the design but come to that i don’t like automatic/mecha watches, so i would like to get a quartz but i would miss that sweeping second hand. I found the best quartz are citizen and grand seiko but they go “tic-tac”. The only watch is quartz and goes smooth on second i found is bulova precisionist or something like that. It comes close to my imagination i would love a 40mm ish watch with the desing like my roamer but with the quartz with smooth seconds like the bulova. I hope you guys can help me out! Oh and not like 1000$ i hope i’m not just dreaming

Many microbrands use a Seiko VH31 mechaquartz movement with a smooth running seconds hand.

The Dan Henry “1975” Diver is 39mm and has the smooth sweep you’re looking for with the VH31 movement mentioned above.

Do you know any other movements like this or pages i could look watches like that maybe with date(1-31) showing?

There are lots of brands using seiko vh31(and there are others), I've got an 'about vintage' with that movement in, maybe not your style though. And those watches with that movement in are generally cheaper than mechanicals.

You can try and give a look at the Concordia from Charlie Paris which also use the VH31.

You mentioned the Precisionist. That’s what I’m wearing today.

that’s funny. i’m literally in the opposite camp. i love what’s called a “dead beat seconds hand” complication. which is a mechanical movement that has a ticking seconds hand rather than a sweeping seconds hand. i think it’s been said that this type of complication can be useful for accurate measurement at each second. but i think the reality is this is more of a watchmaker flex. 😂😂

there’s a few vintage watches like this, including a Rolex dead beat, and a JLC dead beat. i like it just because it’s a rather obscure complication and rather unique.

I dunno about sweeping second glands but I like the look of the Scurfa diver’s , practical & rugged and titanium and quartz ! And not pricey!

I have this one also. Makes a great dress watch. Looks much more expensive than the $200 (or less, sometimes) you'll pay.
