Watches and clobber

Do you match your watch with what you wear? Winter is a good time for this.

Absolutely, practically every day. I've bought watches to match sneakers😂

·

Yes as long as I’m wearing a wrist I’m good, and I have two of them.

·

Ive have very few clothes as I seem to spend all my money on watch straps.

·

Every day! Best part of my morning!

DM’s?

If so never seen em in Chelsea boot style

Yeah, once DMs (aside from the really super duper expensive ones), stopped being made in the UK, they started doing all sorts of wild styles.

Cool, I wear em n love em!👍🏻

In terms of matching watches to clothes, yes. It makes no sense to wear a dress watch with my sporting gear, or really slobby stuff. Similarly, it looks a bit dumb to wear my GShock with a suit. And so on. So a lot of this stuff 'just happens' without any actual thought beyond the basics of what watch matches, what it's practical for, and all that kind of stuff.

·

Why would I do something as silly as that?

·

Of course!! You have to present yourself to the world at some stage.

Just came home from dinner. Dinner fit was Rossi boots, Levis, a Tony Montana tee under a shawl cardigan. All paired up to a Santos.

·

i always involve the color or aesthetic of a watch conscious of how it affects the rest of my outfit

·

Only when dressing dress-casual and up. I'm pretty strict about complimenting leathers and colours when I'm dressed formally

·

Sometimes yes, sometimes no. Depends on my mood.

·

No, but I did bought a suit to match the hands of my Certina DS-1 and shoes and belt to match the straps

·

I try.

·

Today I tried

·

Agreed and for me my watch depends on my mood and what needs wrist time

·

Oh buddy, believe it! It's all got to work together in some way. Not necessarily matching color or materials, but definitely the sensibility of whatever I'm wearing.

·

My question to you is… standing or sitting for the photo? If the former you have ninja like balance😳

Sold these 939s last year. They were 30 years old and were made in England. Seller’s remorse, to say the least. But those DM Chelsea boots look very nice.

I would’ve have matched those boots with this bund strap since they are both made from crazy horse leather.

The watch has to match the fit. Probably why I have so many watch straps.

·

Without fail (if I'm going out somewhere)

If I'm working from home? Not much fits a pair of Oddballs Pyjamas... so I'll wear anything.

·

Always

·

O Yes indeed.

Lovely boots and watch/watch strap combo. I think DMs get a bad rap nowadays and we tend to look at DMs from the 80s and 90s with rose tinted spectacles. I just remember them to be good honest not too expensive footwear and certainly not indestructible. What does piss me off is how all these working class brands have been appropriated by the upper classes and become luxury items

With difficulty 😂

I match what I wear with my watch 🧐
