OK, Longines is giving me fits

These days Longines has leapt onto my radar with startlingly energetic design language. From updating classic designs with an excellence that I find unprecedented, to creating truly magnificent new pieces - that titanium dateless Spirit is a watch I MUST have one day - Longines is knocking it out of the park.

I’m not the kind of collector who concentrates on a particular brand. I did have a leaning toward Maurice Lacroix for some time, but that’s of no consequence. Perhaps, like myself, you are something of a dial-centric collector. I’ll admit, I am puzzled to really describe my collecting ethos, if such a thing exists! The point is, Longines is assertively elbowing past other, much admired, watches on my wish list.

Appallingly, the wish list is becoming an increasingly urgent needs list!

Any other folks out there who’ve noticed Longines’ stealth attack? I’ve rarely been so happy to be leapt upon by surprise.

YES! Your comments resonate with me to a high degree. I have been enamored in particular with the Heritage releases, especially the Conquest (that Power Reserve is a stunner), Flagship & Military models. Hope to have at least one of them someday.

Ha! I have 3 that I moon over. The Spirit titanium no date, the power reserve and hmm, maybe that Spirit chronograph?

Desperate. 😏

Longines have really been on a great run these past few years. Great sizing, respectful reissues and some great new pieces (for me the Spirit in 37mm feels like an instant classic).

Longines is killing it, love their stuff!

·

That Longines it's fantastic, love the central power reserve, only cons for me is the golden over a steel case.

·

You forgot to mention the (kinda) recent release of the Legend Diver in 39mm. That's another one of those recent killer releases by Longines.

·

I used to walk past the longines cabinet, now I can’t leave once I start looking.

·

I'm trying to resist the HydroConquest GMT with the green dial. It's so pretty.

·

Longines have been knocking it out of the park for years, but as you say, by stealth. The new PR is amazing, I'll be surprised if it isn't in my collection by the end of the year.

I agree 🙂

They make some very nice watches and I recently added my first.l after going back and forth a while. Very nice watches, especially via grey dealers at a deep discount.

·

That conquest is incredibly sharp!

I have been a fan of Longines watches for a long time but admittedly found the cases to lack some finesse. During recent times finally decided to source a black PVD Legend Diver followed with a black ceramic Hydro conquest with a nice rubber strap and clasp, both were purchased with ok discounts from my favourite ad, certainly price would have been much lower had I shopped around but the watches scratch an itch not more than that. I personally feel there is a danger in over buying certain price points of the same brand. No doubt Longines offer intriguing watches for the modern collector who favours watches from past catalogues.

·

I feel you but it's super hard to part with my money to longines. Idk why

Honestly out of all the brands, longines is the one where all of their stuff is fantastic. I can see myself be happy with all longines colleciton
