Note of Appreciation

Before she drops in, like she does every Sunday, I wanted to place this note of appreciation for @DeeperBlue for the community to see. The Scavenger Hunt was bigger and better this year and it was all, and I mean all, due the efforts of one person. She had mapped out this adventure weeks in advance and still was nimble enough to adjust the games as the players pushed on. She made this challenge intellectually and visually interesting. That takes time.

At its best WC is a community of watch people who care for and root for each other. We also show off our pretty little baubles. The Scavenger Hunt was the best of that community spirit. If you are new to the site and wonder what it can do to cement bonds in a community, you should participate next year. Watch people from all over the world will become your watch gang.

Go back and look at the pictures the players posted.

Adults with jobs and families took those pictures for a month.

And we can thank Kaysia for it all. (Go read her at The Escapement Room, especially if you have an opinion about "fashion" watches.)

1000% concur. Kaysia @DeeperBlue you are an absolute rock star, running this game, and making grown @$$ men paranoid and debase themselves all in the chance for virtual survival against zombies and a mad doctor. My family and children questioned my sanity, but ultimately, have accepted that I will be taking watch pictures randomly.

All hail the Red Queen…but now returned to the blue side.

What a lovely post to wake up to! Thank you so much for your kind words. 🙏

I struggle to accept individual praise as I always feel these things are only ever a success through group effort, but I am happy that the part I played was valued. Thank you. 🍻

Hail to the the queen of torture!!

@DeeperBlue did a phenomenal job with the scavenger hunt. Her dedication to keep the game interesting took a lot of effort and we all had fun participating in it!

I wholeheartedly agree! I didn't participate this year in many WC activities but @DeeperBlue is always at the fore of them. Thank you for all the work you do for our community!

·

Yeah, im glad took a chance here. Its been fun, frustrating, educational and really comfortable. Life has changed pretty dramatically for me over the last 2 years but with that is the opportunity to become more of a physical participant in some of ye chaos. Nothing to it but to do it right!!😎

·

Totally agree. Forgive me for not participating. My ADD is such that I've got home and work covered. Staying on task beyond that, is hard. Yes, let's give credit it where it's due. That took a lot of work.

Couldn’t agree more! @DeeperBlue made this a September to remember… and process through with my therapist for years to come.

This was my first year in the hunt and now I feel like a part of the community, which has been a real treat. Thank you for all the amazing work you did. It was the most painful fun I’ve had that can be discussed in this forum.

Well said @Chubbs : “a September to remember!” All thanks to a bunch of tireless Crunchers who went above and beyond any notion of sane behavior - but could only do so because of the meticulous preparation, planning and general excellent GameMaster-ship of @DeeperBlue !! I mean, I struggled to keep up with my own small group’s progress, she had to keep a tally of ALL players, whilst preparing for the next challenge. I can’t begin to imagine the crazy amount of hours she must have put in. So again, many thanks — and ofc also to her co-conspirator, @Aurelian.

Thanks for all the effort and enjoyment you’ve brought to WC.
