Help me find my weekend watch to complete my 3 watch collection.

Hi everyone!

I'm currently the owner of a Serica 4512 and it has been (basically) the only watch in my wrist since November 2021. I've decided to complete it with the new Zephyr from Lorier, since my two favorite watches are the Explorer and the Reverso (yes extra basic bitch) and these two watches feel they fill the role perfectly, coming from brands that i emotionally attach the most and have talked to the owners/designers in person have nothing but respect for their vision and brand.

Now, I've always been obsessed with the idea of a 3 watch collection ever since i started this hobby around 6 years ago.

Could anyone recommend a: weekend colorful watch that feels like fishing with your dad, comes from a micro brand of passionate people and also feels like a classic yet new? I have searched everywhere but nothing clicks yet, so I'd like to hear what you could come up with.

Formex Essence comes to mind.

Colorful you say? Micro? Yes! Behold Boldr Pokemon Edition:

Have you checked out Nodus?

Zodiac might be more like a Zombie brand than a micro, but potato tomato. They got funky colorful divers 👌

Lovely collection so far BTW 🥰

I'd take a look at some models from Direnzo, Traska or Formex. All run by amazing people who love what they do with mostly original designs. If you want something with a more modern take, the Formex Field is a titanium field watch that can take a beating. Want something more classic? Try a Traska Freediver or Seafarer. Or if you want something right in the middle; Direnzo has their DR04, DR04 and DR05 models that are always showstoppers.

I'd love a Traska, they just go too traditional for me to feel it's a weekend watch. Maybe later they could come up with something more playful! I'd be down

Yes! They're in my radar for sure. I thought i would go for something like their new sector deep, but maybe the proportions didn't click. I'm a fan of how a Doxa 300 wears for example and this one felt like the opposite. Still, Nodus is one of the brands i follow and support regularly.

How bout Fosters 11 atmos? Made by a microbrand, I hear they are good folks. This one is a skin diver, has the capability one may need for weekend activities, has effortlessly cool vintage looks while being happy and colorful. Also has a good size and bracelet.

Thank you! I feel Zodiac is like Doxa or Nomos. I just don't feel the personal touch of a guy just making a watch they love, unlike with smaller micros. Cool watches tho 🙌

Gotcha! Boldr and RZE may have some other options up your alley too.

Gotta be Studio underd0g, choice of fun colours, chronograph which you don’t currently have and as you’ll have time at the weekend to sit and admire the face you’ll also have time to wind it👍🏻

You’ll however have to wait for a batch release

I was going for that route, problem is it doesn't have any water resistance so it doesn't fit my lifestyle (hiking and swimming on weekends if i can). If they ever release a diver, I'm completely sold.

Foster makes a solid product nice pick up maybe the WOLBROOK SKINDIVER A COOL VINTAGE STYLE WATCH GREAT PRICE STAY AWAY FROM THE BRACELET

·

Maybe something from Mr Jones?

I think a diver would round out your collection well. Maybe a GMT. Jack Mason and Baltic (respectively).

Baltic for the win!

·

I owned one of their Versa myself, the trench watches from Vario gotta looks sharp enough for the weekend 🔥

·

Doxa Sub200! Not really a micro brand in the typical sense, but micro in comparison to Omega in the # of watches they manufacture/sell.

Second would be the Trident from Christopher award.

·

the watches posted in this thread........I want em all!

·

I'd say check Farer, they do have very nicely, tastefull colored watches

·

Well I consider the bright orange GMT hand "colorful." And it is my absolute FAVORITE watch right now. Steinhart's homage to the long discontinued original Rolex Explorer II (ref 1655). It is an OLKO Special Edition of their 39mm Ocean GMT. A simply spectacular watch.

How about the Aquascaphe dual-crown in blue by Baltic? The blue looks great, the dual crown and internal rotating bezel add a little something different than your standard diver, and it can handle a weekend at the lake.

·

I’m not sure which to recommend, perhaps something from Maen? The two you’ve selected already are a great pairing, really impeccable taste 👌

·

Check out Wise Timepieces

Hitman or Adamascus 904L steel. Great colors, excellent materials to the nines execution. They are one of the best microbrands for finishings and details. Good Luck, wish I had that 4512😉

·

Have you considered Brew and Farer? They have some nice ones that strike a good balance between classic and fun imo.
