“Nice NonDate Submariner” they said.

I always got mistaken by people who owned 1-2 rolexes and said, “hey, nice non-date Submariner” or “Rolex got this kind of watch? A date window with no cyclops? Is it the real deal?”😂

This SD4K was one of the watch in Rolex catalogue 6-8years ago that nobody wants it, readily available (few pieces) on AD/Boutique shelf.

I got this piece 8 years back with no purchase history + 8% discount over retail. Those were the days, Explorer II Polar readily available with discount and of course, a bunch of Datejust all sizes that no one cares.

This SD4K was abit too small for my wrist back then(was obese) and when they came out with SD43 a year after i got this, i wanted that and of course i didn’t, due to no purchase history and everyone were lust over bigger watch then.

Now looking back, this is one of the best purchase i had in the size i can carry since i have lost 15KG body weight throughout the years, yeah, did remove some links from bracelet 5 years ago.

What do you think about this SD4K that has no cyclops over the date window?

I like it. Congratulations on the weight loss. That is life changing.

Outstanding buy! Looks good on you!

·

It’s the only Rolex I like! Though I’d go with the JC colorway, I’m not into basic black

Really wish Rolex offered more watches without the dreaded cyclops

I have no depth perception!

IMHO, it gives watches an old man vibe, increases the asymmetry anwkwardly, and is almost always viewed little off angle rendering it useless.

Congratulations on the life change! I have the Deep Sea-Dweller similiar to the Seiko Marinemaster 300 it's a hard watch to wear unless you wear it a lot and have gotten use to the top heavy watch case. Especially with the bracelet at 20mm tapering to 16mm at the clasp - The balance of the watch isn't the best. But it's a Rolex dive watch without a cyclops. Not a lot of non-watch enthusiast will know that and will ask you if it's the real deal. In fact, a lot of people will ask any Rolex wearer if their watch is REAL 😂🤣😆 Stay Thirsty My Man 🍻👊🏽

I prefer the non cyclops look

Yes! One of the best decision i made 8 years ago, apart from getting this piece.😉

Yeah it does appeared as basic Rolex due to the black dial and black bezel that’s what I like about it about this piece.

It’s like if you know, you know.

Agree, in fact when i was buying this piece, my AD brought out a James Cameron Deep Sea from the vault and asked if I want it instead of this piece.

I was certain i can pull it off with my big, no, fat wrist. But due to budget reason, i turned it down and got this instead.

Looking back, i am glad with this piece, perhaps Deep Sea fetch higher resell these days.

It's just sleeker, I personally love the no date.

Show me where?

On the pic where your shownig the thickness on the opposite side of the crown

Ahh, the escape valve… that would be a indication is a sea dweller. Tudor has the same thing on their Original Pelagos.

·

Hey Andy, congratulations on the life changing weight loss! Also congratulations on the Sea Dweller! Its good to see a Rolex without a Cyclops, the watch face is so much cleaner without it.

·

16660 is the choice for me. Unfortunately I think you’re right - this is way too big for your wrist.

Hey Jamie, thank you!

Tell me more about your IWC Mark XX in green!

I wish I could, it is actually a watch that I bought on AliExpress from Sugess. I had never heard of the Mk XX until it arrived and did a Google image search.

Looking back, i would love this comment “too big for my wrist” any day.

It used to fit well on my fat wrist, but I was dealing with too many obesity health issues.

A watch doesn’t fit my wrist, probably is the last thing i’m worried about.

Nice, I have a no date 40mm I got at the AD a few years back, love it .. but I also have a Datejust 41 chocolate 2 tone with the cyclops and I think it's my favorite watch I own ... I like with or without

But I did get to try on the two tone Sea Dweller 43 and it is awesome

Nothing wrong with Cyclops, it just down to personal preference, my gmt2 have cyclops, in a way, is Rolex’s signature.

I saw SD43 in flesh, it does have it’s own charm!

·

First well done for weight loss, congrats. No cyclops is by far best looking one if date is there, also like SD more than Sub as it looks like a proper tool/diver watch - what it should be.

Personally I prefer the cyclops on Rolex 👍

Personally I prefer the cyclops on Rolex 👍

I don’t mind it..Is Rolex’s signature after all…

Just like some people prefer date and some wants non date clean dial.

·

Great watch…last of an era for non cyclops sea dwellers which were always a great alternative to a sub. New SDs and deep sea particularly are reserved for HUGE wrists. This one fits great now…. Congrats on the weight loss

True that, I just can’t pull the new SD off now.
