What is your Perfect Specs?

If you are into Panerai, you know there is no perfect specs. (same goes for other brands)

The combination of specs such as automatic, see through, case shape, case back, dial color, sandwich dial, small second hand, date window, power reserve indicator and more.. only name a few here, just these few combination alone are enough to make me collect for more.

Next one probably Luminor with 1950 case, automatic, date window with small sec hand, sandwich dial of course, dial color… green please or i happy with coffee dial… size, 44mm.. see thru case back… hacking sec pls…

Man… wish list..

What is your perfect combination with the brand you love?

I love Panerai. I personally prefer the older versions with the Unitas movements. I have found that I love them on a Croc strap, tapered down. Makes the watch seem more elegant, to me anyway. Paneristi on!!!!

The Marathon Jumbo Chrono SAR on a bracelet checks all the boxes for me:

•big (46 mm)

•hefty (250 g)

•industrial finishing (knurled crown and pushers, big grip bezel, no polishing)

•screw down crown and pushers with 300 m WR

•flat crystal

•ETA Valjoux 7750 movement

•tritium

•bracelet with solid, fitted end links and screws (why though, does this $4,000+ watch have a stamped clasp?)

Marathon SAR’s are unapologetically mil-spec tools with functionality and ruggedness as design priorities. This results in a unique aesthetic that is reflected in nearly every specification.

Good to see that there are still guys that like a big watch, I feel better now, thanks

I had a love affair with each of my Panerai.

Paneresti!!

There are no perfect specs. Two different watches could have identical diameter and lug to lug measurements and still wear wildly different on the wrist. I feel like many deprive themselves of the chance to try awesome watches just because it’s not their “ideal” set of specs.

·

Panerai is a sick brand, the Radiomir Quaranta is about the only one I think I’d be able to wear but I love the design.

For my own favourite brand, any 36mm Rolex on an oyster bracelet.

Nothing wrong with preference. The luminor crown guard is a love it or hate it thing.

But once you’re hooked.. you are done😂

I think if we open our mind and heart to appreciate each piece in detailed, every piece is a master piece.
