Just received the email from Farer and reviewed these watches online. Pretty sweet!

·

That salmon dial. 😍

·

respect farer for designing this. so fresh 👍

·

Wow! Got the email too… damn it too many watches too little 💵 hmm as much as I like the new design I still liked the Stanhope II

·

Wow!  Those are all great.  I think the silver with blue numbers wins it (barely) for me.

·

Gorgeous.

A stanhope with alpha hands, so great

·

These are gorgeous! I think the pistachio Mansfield is my favourite, but the Durham gets a nod too. Damn Farer! I can’t afford one of these… can I? 😳

·

Is there a bracelet option for any of them? They look great and I got to try on the Stanhope II at the Windup Watch Fair in Chicago. Very impressed with that watch. The green would be my choice from this lot. Like the pistachio color way. I'd consider this watch if there was a bracelet option. I don't like leather straps on my watches. I'm pretty much a rubber, bracelet or MN (think Erika's Originals) strap guy.

·

There's a mesh bracelet for the Stanhope which I imagine will be offered with these too.

EDIT - yes they are all available with the above mesh plus some rubber options.

After the initial shock of lust for these - I'm still very happy with my Stanhope II.

Don't know why they picked the SW216-1 manual wind instead of SW260-1 an automatic version. I was very temped by the Tea green, but I would have pulled the trigger if it was an automatic. On the case design they borrowed heavily from Stanhope II and knocked it out of the park. They are not saving much thickness going with manual wind over automatic. I don't get this.

I imagine that the automatic would have increased the thickness by at least 1mm and for a dressier watch, they wanted to keep the measurements under 12mm thick. The Stanhope is manual wind too if I'm not mistaken.

·

You know, they fixed the complaints I generally had about the Stanhope.

Better hands, less busy dials (mainly eliminating the numbered second track), and beautiful integrated colors.

I am especially glad the chose a manual wind as well because it means I can guiltless sit out buying it!

·

Very tasteful use of color for all 3. The accents for each to offset the main colors just elevate them that much more. Think these are a win, with the pistachio my favorite by just enough!

·

These are a solid release at a great price. My first impression was could this sway me from a Fears Brunswick, and for me personally, it is a solid no on the Salmon watch. That grey numeral track just kills the dial for me, but I can appreciate how some would like it.

To me, this is the stand out, though, I would get a slightly more tobacco strap than what it comes with.

The second pick would easily be, but if I am going to buy a watch at Windup in October, do I buy this knowing the SPB355J1 comes out a couple weeks later in a similar color scheme?

I guess the manual winding helped them to shrink the thickness a little more. But what i would like to see in these watches (even with having more thickness) is the lume and more water resistance. Surely with a higher price maybe around 1200-1400 band. But with those they would be an excellent competitor for 2022 Omega Aquaterra 38mm series. And also some more fun dial colors including an eye catching blue dial (the green dial is exceptionally great btw!). But with the current state, they are very fancy looking dress watches. But paying this amount to a manual dress watch is arguable.
