I think we can all admit that we may have been influenced by Watch YouTube at some point for a piece or two. But what I want to know is this...
What watche(s), have you purchased for your enjoyment that most people (watch fam or not) have found to be questionable or they didn't like?
Mine is in the comments.
Watch enthusiast/collector. Watches are an art form, a muse of sorts, an inspiration from the past for the future. A watch does more than tell us the time of day....They should inspire us. Reddit: htt...

My Navitimer on the Air Racer Bracelet has garned hate all over the place, (IG, Reddit etc.), but I love the look and what it means.
At the opposite end of the spectrum from Breitling is this $3 AliExpress special that gets more than a few chuckles and has my wife questioning my sanity. 🤣
I think the best comment I got about this watch is that it looks like a dog's dinner!
It's amazing how much hate there is out there for TAG...

I love that watch. I just wish it weren't so damned thick...
The watch fam doesn't seem to like these as much as the rest of the world does. I don't really understand why, the functionality is great if you can put up with charging it like a phone.

Heh -- I won't even put up with quartz watches because of dead batteries! I certainly wouldn't deal with that.
From family (i e wife) not so many ”not like”, ”questionable” (need of) is another story.

I don't really understand what's going on there, but for $3 how can anyone criticize you?

I don't dislike smart watches because of the watch community, I dislike them based on owning one and hating the notifications, as well as poor battery performance.
It has to be my Zenith A384 Revival. Most people loathe the tonneau case but I loved it. There was a one time that I would scour the internet just to want to read some good review of the watch but in the end, it didn't matter anymore. For most people it was simply the case. The masses tends to like the the tri-colour chronomaster revival series but to me, the shape was just like any other watch.
It's not so much that my watch is disliked, it's that people pretend they didn't exist, and didn't sell as well/better than their competition. Everybody in the watch community obsesses over Casio, but I see far more Timex digital, and analog watches in the real world than I see Casio.
The early 90s version of this was my first "real" watch, and since then I have owned many. I wore one of these through most of military career, and have never found them lacking in any practical way. As a matter of fact, the only reason I switched to "nicer" analog watches was because the digital watch just didn't look "fancy" enough.

I don't know about everyone else, but for me, wearing a watch is an anachronistic act, so a smart watch sort of defeats that.🤣 I have nothing against anyone who wears one, but they are not for me.

It's more of an aesthetic thing; the watch is ugly according to my wife.

I cannot wait for them to bring back those early 90's models!... the teal colorway was my dream when I was in middle school and my folks picked me up the Casio competitor instead.... The Timex indiglo color at that time was revolutionary.
Keep hearing that the mark Xviii isn’t good enough bacause entirely inhouse. Should rather buy spitfire or something from Omega. The BB (41) is «too» big - the 58 is sooo much better etc.
Both of these pieces are awesome. I don't get the hate.
My IWC Ingenieur 3239. Criticised for using a modified ETA 2892. 6 years later it’s still running at +2spd.
Oh boy not the movement critics. Like I get it but they seem to have no chill.
Every time I hear someone start down a path on movements on any social media platform this comes to mind...
Apparently only pricks buy Tiffany blue watches according to a recent post I read here on WatchCrunch.
But that’s okay by me, I like being different from the norm and only ever buy the watches I like anyway. Other peoples take on my taste and collection are not important at all. As the title suggests “Buy what you like “
Oh wow...

I really don’t understand all the hate a lot of watches get - especially size regarded hate. The watch is not too small or too big - it just don’t fit your wrist!
I like Casio G-Shocks. They won’t win any fashion awards and they are mass produced plastic and rubber with a stamped stainless steel wafer backplate but they just work and they work very accurately.
I'm with you. They are awesome!
The watch community loves this watch but my wife hates the two tone Daytona.
I have a love hate relationship with it myself with just enough love to keep it. For now.

FWIW, I'm grudgingly part of the watch community and I don't like Daytonas at all, so I agree with your wife.
Good thing it's your watch not mine! 😜

I hear you. I mostly like it but it became a thing over the past five years or so...so I find myself disliking it just a little more each day.
Maybe that will swing back. Maybe it won't. We will see.
I remember seeing ads for this watch back in the 80's when I was a pre-teen and I was immediately in love. I'm a less is more kinda guy so this watch was right up my alley. Fast forward about 40 years later and I finally buy one only to find out that the watch community hates this brand. I get a lot of compliments from my friends though, which is nice, but wearing it simply takes me back to that time when I first fell in love with a watch.

Love this piece! So underrated.

Wear what you like, and kudos to you fulfilling your childhood dream.
I always wanted a Navitimer and UN Maxi Marine Diver. I know have both and am happy as a lark.

For the record I like the look of this piece. I think people had an issue with the crown digging into ones hand if you wear the piece on your left arm. Either way, still an beautiful piece!
I like vintage dual crown watches… so I buy them 🤣

I like those. Very cool!
